Okay let me mini-rant for a bit. I don't normally do this but I just felt like saying something.
We need to pray for the police. We need to pray for the country. We need to pray for the world. It's becoming a really horrible place and I wish we could do something but we really can't. Actually, we can. We can pray.
As the daughter of a Georgia State Patrol trooper and ex SWAT, it's been very hard for me especially with all these things that have been going on lately, and I just can't help but fear that one day my dad might not come back home. That something horrible will happen to him. I know that's not saying a lot but it really is scary.
I don't know why all these things are happening but they need to stop. I don't know the full story on the BLM movement and all that stuff but I can tell you this, it's not working. Your attempts to "de-arm" cops aren't working at all. My dad won't leave the house unarmed.
I used to always fear July 4th and New Years because he's out late nights and there's crazy drunk people and something might happen to him. That fear has now been extended to every single day and WORSE. Sometimes I wish he'd quit his job but that's really selfish of me. He's been doing this for 13 years now and it's what he's been wanting to do his whole life.
The police aren't enemies. Yeah we have a few bad apples here and there(I'm just being honest ok) but the majority are those who stand by their oath to serve and protect so please stop treating them like they're the bad guys and for the love of God stop shooting them like omg are you guys out of your minds??? I'm tired of watching the news and all I see are cops being shot left and right.
Ok end rant. Hope you guys have a blessed rest of your day.

Edit: yes I will admit there are racist cops. I'm not saying all cops are innocent. But that doesn't justify killing them and honestly that will only make things worse.
Edit 2: Okay yes we need to take action ourselves but we can pray for the strength to carry out those actions because I don't think we'll be able to do it alone.
Edit 3: I got my dad to read this thread. He says thank you for the prayers.

Prayer gives people a false sense of hope. Points made however are valid
