Playing Trials of Osiris, trying to help someone go flawless and we get off to a good start (4-0 in our first game). Then one of their teammates waves at us and suddenly we are all kicked.

We checked their prior games and it looks like this group of players waits until their opponent (us) wins four rounds, then boots the entire lobby from the game, including themselves. They are effectively saying "we can't win so neither can you". I won't post a link to their accounts for obvious reasons, but I assure you we looked up their history and saw a pattern.
Sure, it's the first game and it's not that big of a deal, but this is still network manipulation and negatively impacts anyone on the receiving end.
I don't want this to turn into a witch hunt or name shaming. Please do not message these players or attack anyone. We just want this unique kind of cheating brought to attention so it might be prevented. Stay cool, and thanks for watching.
When you believe someone is cheating the best thing you can do is use the in-game Report Player function: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12960For more information on what Bungie considers when investigating reports of cheating, see the following help article: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11929Bungie actively investigates network manipulation and other forms of cheating. the community should be aware of cheaters in case they run into these guys I strongly feel cheaters need this, if we cant alert the community then bungie could at least publicly shame these guys. -take away their event rewards. -force them to have an emblem on all their characters that clearly depicts a pvp ban. -force put them in a clan that fits the place they cheated most like "Let down of Trials","Cowards of Iron Banner","Can't cut it Guardian" if its in normal pvp.(they should be forced to stay in the clans long as their ban is worth, each ban the length of their membership in said clan should be extended.) -include a none skip able cut scene in the tower where Lord shax thumbs down the player an gives them a stern talking to. Have the same cut scene in the reef but with the trials guy shunning them an denies them access to his bounties while the queen decree their punishment. -Block their messages so only friends can contact them and no one can send them hate mail.(very least that can be done here). Bungie should really do something like this show the community they care and are trying instead of allowing this filth. watching them Nerf this an that over pvp but they cant even man handle the main issue that is cheaters among us that get spoon fed everything.
-
So it's ok for them to cheat, but not ok for them to be exposed at what scumbag cheaters they are? The whole "no name and shame" policy is stupid. Especially when you provide VIDEO PROOF of it happening.
-
Honestly I'm proud of blizzard for name shaming the hackers in Overwatch. Publicly expose them. They deserve it. Bungies name shame policy is just so safe. People can feel they can get away with stuff because they may or may not get punished. It's silly.
-
Noobs I've been ddos from iron banner pieces of shit name and shame!
-
I think that anyone caught cheating should still be able to play .... BUT have their shader permanently switched to flashing florescent pink and have a cheater emblem & clan tag locked down.....
-
When you creat an exclusive even like ToO ppl are going to cheat because of a lot of reasons. ToO for some ppl is extremely hard and for some is a walk in the park and here lies the problem almost all cheaters can't go to the light house so they cheat. Look at somethings like Iron Banner the grind is so real and most ppl grind it because losing dose not reset your progress the cheating in IB is almost non existence. IB is laggy because most of the player base play it. How can you reduce the cheating? Simple -remove the Boons completely -Total of 10 wins to get to the light house -every 2 wins you get a check point -flawless light house run ((without losing 10 rounds)) will give ya exclusive shader, emblem, ship and a class item to show everyone that you are a flawless champion of Trials. Do this and a lot of players won't cheat. That's just my 2cents anyway.

Edited by Smough: 7/20/2016 8:18:10 PMIm not even scared to cheat in this game, unlike other games. It's so easy to get away with stuff. You can't be accused on the forums, the report system doesn't do shit, and the red bars in the game are so bad that you wouldn't be able to tell a difference between a hacker and somebody across the world in Walmart.
-
You don't know what martyr means.
-
If you haven't checked out his YouTube and twitch Your missing out
-
I don't play ToO much so I'm lost. I thought it was a win if the other team left? That seems like an extreme oversight if the other team can leave and it boots you as well. In all other crucible game in Destiny it counts as a win by forfeit (a plain win actually).
-
What do you mean by martyr in this context?
-
Edited by Maulecule: 7/19/2016 11:46:50 PMTHIS IS WHAT BUNGIE SHOULD DO Blizzard banning the cheaters and naming and shaming. This brings results.
Earlier today, they announced a 1572-person ban wave. Not only that, they revealed the username of everybody who’d been banned.
-
Honestly, i'm seeing cheats even in regular crucible now. Came across a guy the other day, any time I shot him, game immediately goes into super slow-mo. Didn't happen with any other player.
-
Maybe bungies rules are lagging behind
-
Super pathetic, but until something actually happens, like repercussions for garbage like this, it's just going to keep happening because we live in a world with people who don't know how to take a loss, these are the, "no kid left behind" generation. Sad stuff when you don't know how to lose classy, in a video game no less. Definitely frustrating, but Bungie needs to step their game up and clean this stuff up. If people are capable of stuff like this, what good is pvp competition? Like the old days when someone would be getting wrecked in 4 player split screen and they turn the system off, or flip the board of a board game haha, sore losers hold their flags up high with no shame and no consequences. That's their super right there, Bungie should nerf that ;P
-
The levels people go to. It's pretty bad when a game ,in which winning has no extrinsic value beyond some shitty loot, drives people to manipulate the system. Just play the game. It's not that hard. Push the button, things happen, now do it better than those guys.
-
The best way for Bungie to stop cheaters is to deal with them harshly and in a very public way. Punishment in and of itself is not a deterrent unless it is visible. If they won't punish cheaters and they refuse to name these cheaters after they have been punished, then there is no deterrent whatsoever. The question is at that point, "Why not cheat?" You are at a competitive disadvantage if you do play fair. NOTE: I'm not trying to encourage cheaters, all I'm saying is that if there is no downside, there is no logical reason not to cheat. Bungie needs to create that downside and ensure its visibility so people are less tempted to cheat.
-
They deserve justice
Ninja justice ^_^
-
Garbage like that is the main reason why I hardly ever play Trials and the rare occasion I do it's only for the bounties. Screw cheaters and screw Bungies stupid "name and shame" policy. Guys that do this need an emblem permanently locked onto their account saying they're a cheater and a year's suspension along with whatever public humiliation they get.
-
-blam!-ING ASSHOLES AT BUNGIE PROTECTING CHEATERS A -blam!-ING GAIN like stop already NO your report PLACEBO bullshit buttons dont work.-blam!-ing fix trials you assholes
-
Edited by ScotchEggsRules: 7/19/2016 6:44:18 PMHave you got a video? Does anyone else feel Bungie's reaction is soft as shyte?
-
Lmao @ "ninjas" trying to promote in-game reporting as if it's something that's actually monitored.
-
I dont play trials but it seems you guys have a lot of shit to deal with cheats and little lagglovers. It should work on a 3 strike system. 1 your banned from trials for 3 month. 2 your banned from trials for good. 3 banned from playing destiny and account gets reported to sony for network manipulation. If they do it on one game whats stopping them doing it on other games. We had this on killzone sf with it being a launch game it got lagged out by no end of players it became unplayable. These players are like locusts all they do is trash stuff.
-
This never would have gone on in the Halo days. Justice would be swift and brutal. Bungie went soft.
-
Saw this happen to GiggleMonstar
-
Bump this comment if you know damn well nothing will happen to them even if you mailed Bungo HQ video evidence.
