Hey, everyone! I've decided to put together a page on Pokémon GO that contains all the tips you might be looking for. Have any that you don't see here? Post them below and I'll add them!
• Pokémon GO only tends to use about 8MB of data per hour of open use (i.e. not when put away). If you find that you're using more, try closing other apps. It'll save battery, too!
• Catch lots of Pokémon, even if you have them. The items they give you can be used towards you main ones.
• You can start off with a Pikachu by walking away from the starters four times.
• Poké Stops refresh every five minutes or so.
• Gyms can be challenged with other people on your team near you and they don't have to be on your team, so long as they aren't on the same team as the one that holds the gym. Up to six people can battle against a gym at the same time.
• Pokémon size may influence its max CP. More details on this as they come, but some say the heavier it is, the higher the CP can go.
• Spin a ball around before throwing it to do a curve ball.
• The smaller the circle is around a Pokémon, the higher the bonus you'll get upon catching it. The colour of the ring relates to its aggression. Lower aggression (green) means it's easier to catch while higher (red) means it'll be harder.
• Save your stardust for higher levels.
• Turn on power saving mode and flip your phone upside down to let it keep tracking while using a lot less power.
• Naming your Eevee Rainer will have it evolve into a Vaporeon, naming it Pyro will evolve it into Flareon, and naming it Sparky will evolve it into Jolteon. Make sure to quit and restart the app for it to properly register this. Wait a bit, too. Additionally, this seems to only work once per evolution (one Jolteon, one Vaporeon, and one Flareon).
• Catch a large number of Pidgeys and Rattatas. A very large number. Then, use a Lucky Egg. Evolve them for 1,000 Exp each.
• Gyms can be challenged by more than one person on a rival team (in relation to who owns the gym) at a time.
• Rather than evolving a low CP Pokémon with two evolutions and then evolving it again later, wait until you have enough candies to evolve it twice. By then, you'll have caught more than enough of that type of Pokémon to catch stronger versions of it and, thus, you'll save some candies.

Any tidbits on how pokemon tracking works? Aside from "as footsteps decrease from 3 to 2 to 1, you're getting closer".
