Technically, since you aren't getting any new sets of genes with incest, it just cuts down on the amount of genes available to your offspring. So theoretically, the first generation or two of inbreds would most likely be fine. But when you get to 4 and 5 or more, you're drastically reducing the amount of genes in the gene pool, so you have a much higher chance of getting messed up recessive traits.
