Gears of war 4 will have something smillar to Halo 5's Req pack method as you can see on the image what are your feelings towards this?
-
As long as I don't have to buy any MP skins or weapon skins like Gear UE or Gears 3/Judgement, then fine by me
-
Does it fund free dlc though?
-
I blame 343 and halo 5 community
yeah I said

they can eat a dick
-
Now this is stupid. I can understand it for halo 5 ONLY because it had a dedicated mode for it
-
Definitely won't play it now. The req pack system is terrible. It's existence is enough to justify me not playing a game.
There's also the fact I've never played a Gears game before and have no interest in the 4th installment.
-
I know what game I'm not getting.

Edited by Krash Nebula: 7/13/2016 11:47:07 AMNooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! I HATE REQ PACKS every time I play Halo 5 I complain about them. But its not becausr I find it pay to win its because I want a specific goal/way to unlock a specific thing. I hate rng.
-
If it funds free DLC then I'm ok with it. Hope some cosmetics are only available via tough challenges though.
-
-blam!- that
-
RNG needs to die from video games.
-
Probably tied to a certain mode. They seem less like in match items and more like cosmetics. I'm fine with it either way.
-
Pretty much every game is doing this now. The players get free DLC, have the choice of never spending any money aside from the base game, and the developers make more money. It's a great system.
-
It can be earned in game and it is only for cosmetic items. There is no reqs for weapons or anything.
-
If you're having Req Packs do not have a Season Pass in my opinion
-
EVERYGAME IS DOING THIS Honestly I'm really sick of it, it's one of the reasons why I was disappointed by Halo 5. I don't want shit locked behind RNG just because they want to turn in an extra profit. It makes sense for games like Destiny. But for CoD, Halo, and Gears?
-
You can't buy them, only earn them through in game play, like the one you're looking at now
-
looks like cosmetics and bounties, any idea if weapons will be involved?
-
Why can't good series just die peacefully?
-
Edited by RC32: 7/13/2016 4:51:20 PMI don't consider H5 Pay to Win at all, that's one of the many reasons why I love it, even though it takes a similar approach as the cancer known as Advanced Supply Drops and Rare Supply Drops (Cancer known as CoD). At least it doesn't encourage you to automatically waste hard-earned cash for a terrible luck rate. It actually encourages you to play the game and earn req points to earn something good the right way. Weapon variants in Halo 5 are only usable in a specific mode (Warzone) for Matchmaking and you need to actually play and work towards earning the mandated req level to use a somewhat more superior weapon than its base, unlike Advanced Warfare or Black Ops 3 where you can just throw money at Activision and get the whole more upper Advantage and spam it 24/7, 365. Another reason why I love H5 is because it's constantly becoming updated with more content like maps at no additional cost. If Gears of War 4 takes H5's route, or even be more smarter and only allow cosmetic items in these packs, than it's an automatic thumbs up for me! I will admit that RNG, on the other hand, is a pain in the -blam!-
Also, sorry that I made my post almost like some sort of essay. lol
Well it would basically be horde. In pvp setting this will influence nothing but in pve it may/may not influence Atleast i can unlock all the sets for free this time unlike gears three where you can only pay for skins I see no problem with this as long as horde isnt butchered
-
Disgusting
-
I wonder if the weapon drops will be tied specifically to horde mode sort of like how Halo's weapon drops are tied strictly to Warzone.
-
It paid for halo 5's content so far. I imagine this is what they plan to do since it has worked well for Halo 5
-
If they use it to support free post-release content I'm fine with it.
-
I dont mind
