I am convinced "data" doesn't actually exist. If you really start thinking about it, it makes sense. We created data. Data doesn't actually take up space or is a tangible, seeable object. Data has no weight., yet fills up space on your devices like no other. How weird? As far as I know, a bit of data ( where it all starts) is made up of either a 1 or 0. So data is made up of numbers? Becasue numbers are also mass now? How can nothing take up space? And since you can't create something from nothing, though we clearly created data out of numbers, which is nothing, does data exist?

 • Digital storage is like memories, it has a limit because it takes energy to keep the pattern of 1s & 0s that makes up say, a photo, into a consistent pattern so that your phone shows you a photo and not gibberish. And energy has weight because e=mc2.
I am convinced "data" doesn't actually exist. If you really start thinking about it, it makes sense. We created data. Data doesn't actually take up space or is a tangible, seeable object. It is seeable, you use a monitor and other devices in order to gain access to it. Data has no weight., yet fills up space on your devices like no other. How weird? This is true, but that is because of the way data is recorded. It is not added to a drive, the drive just changes 'shape', or more accurately it's 'format' in order to remember the data. As far as I know, a bit of data ( where it all starts) is made up of either a 1 or 0. So data is made up of numbers? Becasue numbers are also mass now? How can nothing take up space? Yes, data is recorded as numbers, either a one or zero. This is because these represent different power levels, so a 0 is low voltage and a 1 is high. This is because different power levels are the only thing computers understand, and make up the basis of everything that happens in a computer. Numbers are not mass, I have already explained how it takes up space without weight. And since you can't create something from nothing, though we clearly created data out of numbers, which is nothing, does data exist? It does exist.
Hope this cleared it up a bit <3
