So ive been getting into BF4, i got it for £27.99 with Hardline. Currently im assault with AK12 grip and tactical light and a 4x scope but i get owned at longer ranges and also in fighting around corners and stuff. I also have a SCAR-H with a laser pointer and a grip but idk if i like it the sights dont give much visibility
What are your recommended setups? I usually play on a server that rotates team deathmatch on op locker, zavod 311 and shanghai

First thing's first, but premium, you won't regret it. For weapons I'd go for: AR: M416 with angled grip (or folding), any 1x sight, silencer or standard barrel, laser sight. M16 is pretty good, I don't have it yet. PDW/SMG: Beat the campaign and choose the final decision that'll get you the P90 (I'd look it up, avoiding spoilers here) laser with whatever optic and barrel is great. The UMP .45 has the highest damage per shot of any fully automatic weapon (the SCAR and Bulldog might have the same damage numbers), being capable of 3-shotting somebody to the body, whatever attachments will do (unless it's on my do not use list). LMG's: Not too experienced here, AWS and either RPK are the best. Snipers: Not great at sniping at all, Scout Elite is the overall best within 100 meters, outside of 100 meters I'd go for the M98B or GOL Magnum (GOL requires second assault and doing the worst assignment in the game). Carbines: AK-5c: the iron sights are trash, overall you can do basically anything with this one (the best attatchment in my opinion, the target detector requires Final Stand and doing a short assignment). G36c: great weapon, competes with most AR's, use a 1x sight with stubby grip and suppressor, target detector if you have it, or laser sight. M4: highest fire rate potential in the game (burst fire). It can hit around 1500 rpm pretty consistently, I go with the holographic sight, angled grip, target detector, and suppressor. Shotguns: Pump actions almost require ADS'ing to work. Semi auto can hop fire well. All shotguns are similar. DMR's: All of the DMR's perform really similar. I go with the 2x thermal (3.4 or 4x scope of you don't have thermal), heavy barrel, angled grip, and target detector. Attachments to never use (unless it's a placeholder, or required 3.4 or 4x scope on anything but a sniper or DMR. Slugs Frag Rounds when playing seriously Muzzle Brake or compensator. Ergo or vertical grip isn't as good as stubby/potato or angled/folding on most weapons, PDW's that can have grips being an exception. Tactical Light The standard laser sight of you have the green laser sight (people can and will confuse the green laser as a friendly laser for a split second). Any laser/ flashlight that's turned on at long ranges or through smoke The American red dot sight isn't as good as the Chinese and Russian red dots (Chinese is coyote, Russian is Kobra). The heavy barrel on anything that shoots fast or has high recoil.
