I know this topic has been posted many times before, but I am going to add another one to the stock pile of transfer topics anyways:
I have played Destiny on the PS4 since the Taken King was released. I have spent days of playtime grinding gear for my three level 40 characters, including exotics such as the Touch of Malice, the Black Spindle, and The Last Word.
As most of us are aware, the new Xbox One S will be released in December. I really want this new system; as it as the ability to play some content in 4k definition. The ONLY thing stopping me from switching systems is my progress on Destiny. I would hate to need to have to recreate the same characters just to play the same missions to grind for the same experience and gear that I have already grinded for three times already on each character: this really pulls the fun out of the game because I will never feel like I am working towards something 'new' - just catching up to the days I have already spent getting this gear the first time - especially when new content is released and not many people are playing the old content anymore.
I am in a position where my PSN username and Xbox gamertag are exactly the same. I understand that there are some PS4 exclusives - and I am completely fine with those vanishing after a cross-platform character swap. I would also be fine to pay a small fee for this transfer (to ensure that the system is not abused).
We know it's possible to transfer characters from PS3 to PS4 or from Xbox 360 to Xbox One since those gamertags are linked. Why can't we just link two gamertags (only once) between the two platforms?
Would anyone else like to see this feature implemented?
Edit: As to the comments, I know that cross platform transfers are not currently allowed. I am asking if you would find it useful if it were to be allowed in the future.

No unfortunately. They are completely different entity's sorry man. Even with the same gamer tag.
