I'm having a hard time understanding how the fast food industry came to be what it is today?
Why are we so okay with eating the junk that is served on such a colossal scale that it is truly unfathomable?
It's like, there are supermarkets in every town, go buy the food and make it!
Fast food is the epitome of the United States and it, along with the steady decline in education, and lack of concern for the steady decline in education, will be what turns this nation into idiocracy.
Stupid.
Poor.
And lazy.
And irreversible.
We're living in a golden age and like every other empire we're having way too much fun pissing it away to prepare for the day when other countries really don't feel like doing anything for us or our money.
The food has no nutrients by the way
None of it.
Okay obviously there are many nutrients to be found in everything
But fast food nutrients balance your body's own nutritional balance against what is good and natural.
> Be me
> my parents have no money
> well they do
> but they're always spending it on bullshit and fast food
> so naturally all I ever eat is fast food
> if the vitamins and minerals my body desires
> are not found in my fast food burrito
> that I get every night for dinner
> then I am just shit out of luck
> cause my school lunch doesn't give me shit either
> that got deep tho I'm not a kid who was malnourished

"But it has electrolytes."

Eat whatever the fuсk you wanna eat in moderation.
-
You also have to consider the fact that eating a healthy high-nutrient diet can be as expensive as it is beneficial, especially if you buy organic. You have stores like Whole Foods that will charge you $100 for a grain of brown rice. I understand that farmers and gardeners have to make their money too, but that stuff adds up quick. Another thing is that for something that expensive, fruits and vegetables don't last long no matter how you store them; forcing you to either go the store every night or eat all you vegetables and fruits within 3 days of buying them. I'm not saying that all this justifies a fast food exclusive diet, but it sure as hell is a contributing factor to one.
-
Because you shouldn't get to say what food I put in my own body. If I want to eat "unhealthy" fine. Let me. Go have your salad or freshly cooked steak and potatoes.
-
It tastes good and I only eat it once in a while so I have no stance on this
-
Make it mandatory in schools to watch and make an in depth analysis of Food inc. so that They actually become educated.
-
I eat french fries therefore I am retarded.
-
For me it's because I'm really picky and I like burgers, buffalo wings, and stuff like that
also I'm a bit light for my age so I need to gain weight
-
The same reason why tobacco and alcohol are socially acceptable: with moderation, they won't kill you.
-
Are you vegan?
It's like, there are supermarkets in every town, go buy the food and make it!
Wrong. The nearest grocery store to me is a 10 minute drive going 60-100 km/h. The nearest supermarket to me is a 1 hour drive going 80-100 km/h, and plus there's traffic, so it sometimes takes longer.

Its food tho m9
i get what you mean don't worry
Edited by B00ZE CLUEZ: 7/8/2016 2:07:45 AMlettuce - $1.39 tomato - $1-2 beef - estimated $5-7 a pound (depending on quality) tortilla - $3 a pack sauce - $3 a jar or whatever cheese - $4 a pack or more beans $? $2 or more or... a burrito from taco bell for $3. just saying. edit: why make it yourself when you can save a shit ton of time and a fair amount of money?

You're right. It's a damn shame. I can get behind convenience. But it should be good for you. It is really expensive to eat well , unfortunately. But it seems like it's cheaper than all the health malfunctions later in life. Keep fighting this fight and -blam!- Monsanto.
-
I mean, no one is forcing anyone to eat it. They're free to eat it and not eat it. Making it "socially unacceptable" is not going to change anyone's mind.
-
It's yummy and convenient. Plus, I can't make fries like I want them... Or really cook anything tasty at all :(
-
Because Wendy's chicken nuggets

Eating fast food doesn't make you poor, you eat fast food because you're poor. Fast food isn't the problem, it's just the wrong solution.

It's convenient, tasty, and meshed into modern society by clever advertising and an abundance of options, all nearby (at least for many). Not hard to see why it has become as popular as it is. In some instances, there are savings to be found by volume as well, though this is often accompanied by poorer choices in ingredients.
