PSA: Stop using Zhalo for Arc burn activities!
Just a reminder asking people to please stop overusing Zhalo. In the last month of heroic strikes and nightfalls there's been Arc burn on five times. (3 heroic, 2 nightfalls) No doubt Zhalo has been [u]THE[/u] go-to primary weapon for these strikes. Unfortunately we are all playing into Bungie's evil plans to nerf the Zhalo by removing the arc burn from it. How you ask? Simple. By driving up the usage via high level content with Arc burn, Bungie and the sandbox team can now put out a graph next month saying Zhalo is overused and not the diverse primary choices they intended hence it needs a nerf and the burn removed. Don't fall into their games people! They already got your legendary burn primaries and now almost a full year later they're coming for the exotic one.
I know people will think I'm insane or been hanging out with Eris too long in the tower but I'm right people. Just look at some of the changes and nerfs they've made because a certain weapon or archetype is overused in the game. Autos, Pulses and Hand Cannons have all been nerfed due to overuse at some point. Shotguns? Nerfed several times. Snipers? Major ammo nerf due to overuse. Field Scout, Final Round, Counterbalance, Hammer Forged, etc...All nerfed because those were the only perks people were looking to use. Mida? Average weapon nerfed when it suddenly soared to popularity and became heavily overused in pvp. Gjallarhorn? Nerfed because it was virtually the only heavy weapon being used and idiots demanded you had it or you were blacklisted from raids and such. The nerfhammer is coming for Zhalo and its up to us to try and stop it.
Tldr: Stop overusing Zhalo or Bungie will nerf it because that's how they roll.

Mmmmm...nope. I'm going to continue to use the supercell this week, because it's arc AND small arms. Small arms makes everything else weaker, and why whould I put myself at a disadvantage just because a random on the forums said to?

If they nerfed Zhalo for being used on arc burn. They would have to nerf Celestial Nighthawk for Solar Burn

I think they only use Crucible stats to determine nerfs. Which is why the quixotic quest for Crucible balance has watered down our equipment for PVE. Although there's got to be some reason they've dropped primary burn in Y2.

You're going out of your way to make things take longer and I don't appreciate that so I will back out when I encounter scrubs like you. Also nobody has ever said anything about Zhalo being OP until your post. Way to go.

(may or may not have played today) Bungie knows Zhalo is the ONLY primary with elemental damage now, and they're not going to nerf Zhalo because it's the only arc primary. I think it's the only viable exotic gun for arc burn, unless you have an arc fusion rifle.

Great points, but I'll probably use it anyway. Bungie will eventually nerf all weapons anyways. They've already done so with many good weapons.

That's mostly for crucible, not for strikes. If it being overused everywhere, then you would have a point. You over thought that one.

If they did that then its their fault. I want them to just bring back elemental primaries or hell give us an item that lets us infuse an element into our guns and bam guess what? Everyone has a different gun for arc strikes or void or solar strikes because you can use anything to take down enemies faster and not have to rely on heavy or special to take an enemy with a shield on.

I don't expect bungie to take any action because it's PVE. They only balance PVE one time a year maybe. Year 1 shotgun damage buff, year 2 was super damage upgrades. We should be good until 2017 with PVE balancing.
