First, I get it. Maintaining the destiny environment for legacy consoles is a pain. But I have to wonder if the developers actually understand the cost implications to its players, the many of us that have been around for some time now.
This sucks!
What is even worse is the two following points: 1) neither new platform consol supports the legacy version of destiny. And 2) the new content coming out in Sept requires that you have the TTK content.
So, if I want to continue to enjoy the best destiny has to offer, not only do I have to buy the new$60 content, but I also need to buy another$50 version of the content I HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR!
WHAT THE ____?!?
That does not even begin to address the cost of the New console, the cost of the Internet, nor access through xbox live, or equipment upgrades to handle the additional bandwidth to support the new consoles requirements.
I don't know guys...
I was pretty dissatisfied when TTK first came out. So much so that I essentially stopped playing for something like 6 months. I actually just started playing destiny again a few weeks ago - now this...
Much of what really got under my skin has been substantially improved. But the whole idea that I need to buy the same thing twice... Well, I can say this much, that ain't gonna fly ladies an gentlemen. Not by a long shot.
I don't care how you do it, let me trade my legacy game in for a new platform version, or give me the old content for free if I buy the new stuff. But if you expect or desire to keep me playing this game, you need to do something. I am not buying the same thing twice.

It's been more than a decade since the old gen consoles were released. If you don't have enough money now, that sucks. Mow lawns. Do chores. Save. Sell your xbox. Whatever. You can make money like we did.

Edited by Sanctus Michael: 7/3/2016 12:56:28 AMFirst, there are no new Internet requirements. If anything I lowered my Internet download speed pre Nov 2013 to now. Secondly, you actually SAVE xbl gold money with x1. On 360, if I had 3 people in my family that use xbox live for gaming, all 3 needed live gold. With x1, only 1 gamertag needs live gold, and as long as the console is listed as "my xbox" to the profile with gold, ALL gamertags on that console have gold. Yes, you need to get ttk over again, that sucks. But ttk came out a year ago, Sept 2015. X1 came out Nov 2013. If you saved $16 a month when x1 was released, you could pay for the least expensive x1 by Sept 2014. But you decided to wait. This is the cost of waiting, buying ttk again is the cost. "He who hesitates is lost." Are you crying to Bethesda because skyrim was for 360 but eso wasn't? Or that FO new Vagas or FO3 was for 360 but FO4 wasn't? Are you crying about overwatch not being for 360? I get paid biweekly. Each paycheck I pull out and save $25. Having $12.50 less each week to spend on bullshit easily goes unnoticed. Less Mcdonalds or going out with friends. By November 2017 I'll have saved enough for Scorpio. You should have done something similar for x1/ps4. Not like we didn't have a year warning. Btw, diligent saving from each paycheck was how I preordered TWO Day One edition xbox ones (1 for the bedroom and 1 for the living room). Your lack of preparation is your fault, not ours. Look for ttk on ebay. Look for an x1 on ebay. You can buy cars on ebay. You'd be surprised what you'd find. (Or best offer means you can negotiate down the price) Ttk, 29.99 or best offer: http://www.ebay.com/itm/252446475157 X1 with accessories $187 including shipping OR BEST OFFER: http://www.ebay.com/itm/222174685540 So please. You all on 360 and ps3 are full of crying ass bullshit. You waited 3 years since x1 and ps4 release. Deal with the consequences of waiting. Smh, THREE YEARS!!! By Nov 2017 x1 and ps4 won't even be the latest models anymore. How much longer did you honestly expect 360 and ps3 to be usuable? Wtf, man?
-
The fact that I have to buy a new car every so many years, and you have to buy tires etc for it when you had tires on the last one. Sounds like a conspiracy with the tire company if you ask me.

Gaming is an expensive hobby. If you can't afford a new console or internet and all the other odds and ends then gaming might not be the hobby for you.

Edited by ItzzGrandma: 7/3/2016 3:56:34 AMYou can get legendary edition destiny for like $15 on amazon
-
They one, don't care about your costs only theirs and z, cannot keep halfassing the dlcs do to old gen restrictions
-
Đang guess we won't be seeing you lol

When the vast majority of players are now on current gen consoles, they make the best business decision by dropping last gen. Sure it sucks to those on legacy consoles. But this was going to happen sooner or later. Realize that in the long run this will be a positive for Destiny. Maybe not fair, but life is not fair. Also you will enjoy current gen consoles a lot more. They are vastly better in almost all ways.

ONLY 10% PLAY ON LEGACY
-
Bye Felicia!
-
It's like you legacy console whiners don't know what trade in deals are. Go to your local game store and trade in your last gen and games to cut the price down
-
Me either. Buy a whole new system to play ONE DLC? I'll pass. When a PS4 game that I consider a must-play emerges (like Fallout 3 with the PS3), maybe I'll change my mind.
-
-
You bought the ttk for the PS3 Not the ps4 It's not the same thing Buying a normal dvd and blue ray are the same principle.
-
Why does everyone complain about this, I guarantee that you can rebuy the game and it will come with all dlc, just as you could to with the taken king
-
Well, Bungie definitely won't give you free content, they already did that to the large majority of the players before TTK dropped. But, if you actually want to keep playing, here's a few tips. 1) If you upgrade consoles, all you have to do if log in to your Microsoft account and you will keep your gold membership. You won't have to rebuy it. 2)The entire Destiny game as it stands now(Original game, TDB, HoW, and TTK) only cost $40 at GameStop. You can probably find it cheaper somewhere else too. 3)Rise of the Iron doesn't come until September, so I wouldn't even worry about it. 4)Microsoft's annual Ultimate Video Game Sale begins July 5 and goes until July 11. The Xbox one will be on sale during this time. This would be a good time to buy it. 5) During the sale, it may be possible to buy Destiny on sale as well, but don't hold your breath on that. Well, there you have it. Hope this helps

You can literally get a "new" console for 150$ or less at this point...
-
Actually I think you will be in luck. Activison let people upgrade to destiny on ps4 for free at the time. And mabey they will do another bundle thing.
I bout the destiny ps4 thouse getting everything for the ps4 with it.
-
-
Don't play it then. We are sick of our game being held back by useless 12 year old consoles. Either upgrade or stop playing.
-
If you can't afford that very little amount of money then don't buy it...
-
they're not going to give you the game for free. sorry to be the breaker of bad news, but it is not going to happen. there are a ton of people (myself included) that had the game on last gen. when we upgraded to current gen, we had to re-purchase the game. so........if they make a deal now - does that mean i should get a refund for the 60 that i spent? do you understand how many people fall into this category that you're asking Bungie/Activision to reimburse? think about it. it's Bungie/Activision. do you really think they're going to give stuff away for free? and i don't understand any of that other stuff you are talking about. yes you'll have to purchase the new console. but you're already paying for internet now. so that's not a new cost. you already have an Xbox Live subscription. it carries over to the One. so that's not a new cost. and unless you have dial up internet, why would there be equipment upgrades? i didn't have to change a thing when i went from 360 to One.
-
Guess what. Your existing internet works with new consoles. Pssst, another secret... Xbox LIVE is shared between consoles, so if you have LIVE now, you'll automatically have it on the Xbox ONE... By the way, eBay is your friend: http://www.ebay.com/itm/331768241589
