A.I. RASPUTIN. He turns out to be a hilarious ally who loves joking around, but hates the guardians because one of them decided to infiltrate his bunkers and use cause the collapse, losing his favourite missles in the progress. He becomes the selfish hero, who will help the guardians as long as he gets what's he wants. Oh, and he likes Holiday to her skills in mechanics.

《Ahem》

In the original storyline he was supposed to take us to the dreadnought to save the speaker from orxy and show us that the traveler was actually the darkness in hidding but they thought that was to complex story telling for children and made it the trash we have now. I wish destiny was rated M so "complex storylines" would be over looked because children wouldnt be the main focus to sell the game. Just goes to show catering to children can ruin a good games potential.

Edited by Senor Crouch: 7/3/2016 5:46:43 AMWell considering in the original story Rasputin was going to be this kickass Exo, I am hoping he becomes something more than a useless stationary paperweight. I seriously doubt a Warmind would consider being an immobile unit incapable of defending itself as an "optimized defense construct". I find it laughable that a Warmind, being a network of doomsday weapons, doesn't have a single counter measure to anything that gets remotely close to the AI's main hub. Every time I load up Siege of the Warmind I should be sitting on a reclining chair sipping lemonade as I watch Rasputin fry Omnigul within an inch of her life for even considering an assault on the Warmind of Earth. It just becomes frustrating because Zavala states at the end of Fallen S.A.B.E.R. that the last time he sent a team of Guardians to speak to Rasputin he scattered their bodies across the Cosmodrome. How is that even possible? You are expecting me to believe that a group of warriors known to house the power to defeat the Taken King got wiped out by a construct incapable of eradicating the Taken King's son's mistress? Omnigul is at best a level 26 beast and Rasputin is having trouble getting rid of her? So then that begs the question, what is Zavala doing sending new recruits to meet with Rasputin? Is Zavala an idiot? Is there no one in his ranks over level 20? So let me get this straight: Rasputin can defeat Guardians without breaking a sweat, but then Omnigul comes in and Rasputin begs for help from a Guardian to get rid of Omnigul because the Warmind can't defeat her, yet we can defeat her without breaking a sweat? WHAT!? I don't know, the more I think about it the more of a headache I get. "Holy Crap! Who is running this army!?" - Leonard Church

Edited by seantheprawn1234: 7/3/2016 9:17:40 AMYep after SIVA is done with him he will then be called trans-Putin
-
Maybe rasputin eventually evolves into the vex, I can't remember seeing the vex attack him. Oh ya and one of the vex strikes the boss drops a titan mark with rasputins mark but it's all dirty and old.
-
I thought there was a link between cayde-6 and Rasputin but I'm not clear on the details
-
Add 35 more and you get yourself a dlc
-
Well, as an A.I., you're right and wrong.
-
Anything can happen now. They are just making it up as they go along until they think of a story. The original story where the traveller was actually the darkness would have been good. Even if a storyline worth following eventually appears in the game, it's been so long now that I don't think I care. I've been shooting aliens just because we are told to since the start. A story would just complicate things now lol.
-
He's sentient as f*ck already
-
He already was sentient when the darkness turned up.
-
Maybe he went rampant when he was locked away
-
He's definitely attained some form of sentience; why else would he threaten us with orbital annihilation during the Fallen SABER Strike? I do wonder what kind of things he has planned. He could be in contact with the Vex or The Nine for all we know. I'm also curious as to what kind of relationship, if any, Rasputin has with this "S.I.V.A." thing in Rise of Iron. I mean, it's a machine plague from the Golden Age, the old man must know something about it.
-
Considering the fact that Bungie so far has shown that the only story they can produce is "large enemy threatens to kill the solar system, go and kill it," I'll take that deal. I could use the $5 on my preorder of RoI.
-
I'm going to hold you to this

Edited by Ghost of Raps: 7/4/2016 3:42:11 PM
I'm betting 5 dollars that (Rasputin) has become (Sentient).
*Fixed I will (Fix) everything.

He took over the traveler.
-
The grim that are written from Rasputin's personal perspective clearly show he is highly emotional and creative. He also states that he was taught to learn and adapt. Plus he was able to change his own literal moral code, so I think his state of sentience is pretty clear.
-
Putin shortened his name prior to joining the KGB.
-
I don't have a lot of evidence but I still think we'll find out that Rasputin is the traveler.

An evil AI
