Eventually, I sat back, my plate and bowl clean. "Thanks for the food. Mind if I crash here for the night?"

"Can do," I said. I might have said something witty, but I was tired, and had obviously already pissed this guy off enough. Best to not push him further.

He leads him to his room and leaves him the key, and heads back down to his bar.

I opened the door to observe my lodgings for the night.

It was a plain room, a bed, some dressers, a chest, a chair, and a desk.

I sighed as I locked the door behind me, finally letting the reality of my future hit me. I wasn't going home anytime soon. Upside, there was some really cool shit here, if I lived long enough to get my hands on it. Downside, there was a LOT of shit that was bound and determined to make that endeavor difficult. I shook my head to disperse my thoughts. I could consider it tomorrow. Right now, I needed sleep. I considered taking off my flak armor, but decided against it, only taking off my helmet. I'd be more prepared if something happened, and feel far more safe, if I kept the majority of it on. With that, I laid back on the bed, putting my helmet to my left and my lasrifle to my right, and shut my eyes.
