I'm 15 and about to be a sophomore, but my parents treat me like a kindergartner. They make me leave my phone outside in the living room so I won't use it on school days and they give me two hours each weekend or vacation day to use any type of electronic, meaning I get two hours to either watch YouTube or use my PS4, which I KNOW is -blam!-ing stupid. If you agree that these rules are ridiculous, how do you propose that I get my parents to loosen up?
-
You'll probably be thankful for it later, I had like zero childhood thanks to sitting around on my 360 all day lol.

Perhaps not applicable for you but here's what worked for my little brother: 1. I suggest first being the utmost picture of responsibility. This means, don't wait for your parents to tell you to do homework, clean your room, do chores, etc. Do these things of your own volition and do them right. 2. After you've proven that you're willing to demonstrate the values that they've taught you, ask them one evening if you can talk to them. Calmly present your point of view: you'd like to be able to spend some more time doing what you enjoy. Ask if you guys can come to an agreement to gain some additional freedom. Perhaps maintaining a certain GPA+ joining a gym or club or whatever in exchange for more leisure time. 3. If they agree, respect the terms of the deal. 3.5 If they do not agree, respect that too. You'll be an adult far too soon for your liking, I assure you. When you have your own roof that you pay for, you can play COD until your eyes bleed.
-
Stand up to them saying you are tired of being treated like 1st grader but also ask to have more responsibilities for it.
-
So you decide to spent your precious time here?
-
Join the army or something
-
Make a deal w/ them You do some service for more time
-
Lol that sucks

A man is horrified by some of these responses
-
Kill them, well kill one first. Kill your mother first, eviscerate her in front of your father. Make sure she's alive whilst you doing this then cut off all of her extremities and then exsanguinate her. Dump her blood all over your father's body then start to pull out his teeth one by one. By this time I would get bored playing with my prey so just cut off his head and mount it in a spike. That should solve 60% of all of your current and soon to be problems
-
Sit them down and talk with them. Tell them your an adult, and that you want more respect and want to have your own freedom until you get to college, work, and have seven kids, retire, and die.
-
Stand in front of them, take off your pants, and pee everywhere. Then start grunting and fling shit on them to assert your dominance over them. If one tries to stand up to you bite their face off. It's the only way man.

This is exactly what my wife and I do with our 10 and 7 year old so I know where they are coming from. That being said, you are older and as long as you show maturity and responsibility then I see no problems increasing that time limit. However, I don't know you or your behavior, so my advice to you is to have a civilized talk with your parents and see what happens. If they can't have that kind of talk, then you might have to wait until you can move out like I did when I was younger. Though, I did join the Army to serve my country at age 17. What kind of mature adult will you choose to become?
-
Sounds more like Insta-kill
-
Turn 18, move out.
-
They're doing you a favour IMO. Its best not to get addicted to that shit

Edited by Belial: 6/30/2016 11:10:11 PMThey are your parents so I think you'll have to deal with it for the time being. You could run away though.

Edited by FireFaux487: 6/30/2016 10:26:55 PMThere's only 2 things you can do: 1. Kill your parents. Or 2. Stockpile your goodboy points.

Edited by PhillyPhil75: 6/30/2016 6:21:02 PMPro tip: use your 2 hours of free time. When it's about to be up, punch your dad in the throat and kick your mom in the ovaries. Then repeat. You will have unlimited electronic freedom if done correctly
pro tip: don't follow the last pro tip. Go outside and play like normal kids
-
They could expand the time limit, they don't realize that because they are taking away video games from you, by the time You're in college all you're gonna do is play games.
-
>threaten to drop out of school >problem solved >victory.jpeg
Stay in school
-
They're trying to keep you from turning into one of these modern kids that can't live without constant electronic input
-
Dude you're a sophomore. You're still a kid. Suck it up and wait for age 18, or when you have a job and can pay for your own shit.
-
Get a job, maybe? Idk man.
-
I suggest you wait until you're 18 and move out.
-
Run away from home. That'll teach you a lesson for sure, you'll be crawling back within a day. Your parents are all you've got, learn to appreciate them and their outrageous rules. We've all been there.
