Gun fire tears into the ground around you, and you barely dodge a slicing Wong of a crashing plane. Upon reaching the beacon, you glance back, only to see Ghost hemmed in by three sword wielding, highly armored soldiers. He is firing his pistols, but the blasts of energy issuing forth seem to glance harmlessly off the metal-clad brutes.

i run and tackle one

The soldier collapses and drops his sword. Then, he turns toward you, drawing a wickedly curved knife, and growls, revealing tusk like teeth protruding from his lower jaw. Ghost, meanwhile, kicks up the dropped sword, and is fighting the other two soldiers. He ducks an overhead slash, and whirls, slicing the gleaming blade through the armor of one. It drops to the ground, thick black blood flowing from a wound in its side. The other, proving to be a better swordsman, puts up a better fight.

i grab his hand with the knife in it and pin it down i grab one tusk with the other hand and rip it off

The Orc like creature screams in pain, and attacks you with the remaining tusk, biting a gash in your arm holding down his knife arm. You take the tusk in your hand and ram it into his eye, but it's still alive. Ghost parries a light slash, and bats it away. Then, with an expert flick of the wrist, he slashes the wrist of the creature, causing it to drop its sword. The soldier roars and draws his knife in his other hand. Moving quicker than expected, the Orc knocks the sword from ghost's hand, pinning him down. Ghost smiles, "Check your armor" lightning fast, a pistol is out, and jabbing into the exposed torso of the creature. It speaks "pull that trigger, and I'll kill you with me." He puts the knife at his throat.

i rip the tusk out of his eye and stab it through his hand pinning him to the ground i take his knife and tackle the orc on Ghost

At the moment of impact, ghost fired his gun into the distracted Orc. As you stab the knife into the nape of their neck, you feel it's skeleton shatter as the pistol discharged. "Get to the beacon!" Ghost yells, already sprinting, "don't look back!"

i grab one of their swords and I keep the knife then run for the portal thing

Diving into the light, closely behind Ghost, you feel strange energy coursing around you. Bright glow fills your vision, and you feel momentarily dizzy. Then, with a jerk, everything grinds to a halt. You and ghost are sitting at a shadowy table, in the corner of what appears to be a medieval tavern.
-
Sweet. This is the part where someone walks up to us needing help and we have to be intimidating and cool.
-
What does your character look like, and what weapons do you carry?
"Agreed," Ghost answers, "in fact, this is eerily similar to DnD in my high school days," he adds. Right on cue, a heavily cloaked man sits down at the table. A brush of his hand corrects the cloak, but you catch a glimpse of knight-like armor beneath, full plate. He looks around nervously, and then begins, "You two look new." Eyeing out clothes, which had changed to match the setting, he continues, "look. I'll get right to the point. The king needs two people, neutral to the politics of the land, to help him. If you agree, you'll be awarded. He says for me to take-" his voice is suddenly cut short. Choking on spittle, his mouth froths, and his eyes roll back up in his head. Collapsing to the ground, he is obviously dead. The previous air of joviality in the tavern is gone. The barkeep eyes the body warily, and the other customers all move away. You hear mutters, "the plague, it got another-" "these lands, we should get away while we-" "the fifth incident this-" The voice of an old man cuts through it all, "it's no plague I tell you," he says, "it's-" he too is cut off, as the people angrily deny his claims.

Let's go find that king dude.
i always leave it up to others to decide how I look

use your imagination
"I doubt we can easily talk to the king of the realm." Ghost replies, "but this is unlike any sickness I've seen. It appears more like poison to me. Perhaps we should speak to the old man."
-
Let's do it. i follow him
-
You and Ghost approach the man. Grumpily, he looks up from his mug of ale. "What do you want, stranger," he grumbles.
-
Can you tell me about the poison thing
-
The old man raises an eyebrow. "You mean you believe me?"
-
-
He smiles slowly, "Most don't. But I know it's poison. No sickness is like that, I've seen my fair share in my old age. It's poison, and a rare one. It strikes randomly, but I suspect it comes from the river. The problem is, there is no natural cure for it, and the town wizard refuses to believe me." With that, he grows pensive and sullen again, settling back down with his drink.
-
Let's go see this wizard.
-
You head out of the tavern, and find yourselves in the midst of a busy medieval city. It is night time, but the area you find yourself in is still busy. You appear to be next to a wide river, running out of the nearby mountains, obviously a main method of trade. The city extends away from you, on the east bank of the river (your side, still) and up a hill to a sturdily looking castle. Many people are still milling around, some blatantly drunk, others performing tasks. "Finding said wizard, might be a little of a problem," ghost comments.

-
"That's where the problem is," sneers a gravelly voice from behind you. Turning, you see a well built man, completely concealed within a long cloak. The cowl leaves his face entirely in shadows. "The wizard is the king's personal Mage, and the arrogant prick refuses to deal with commoners, unless the king puts them through. Usually an audience with the king isn't to hard to get, but with the plague spreading, he isn't seeing anyone."
-
Do you know where he is?
-
"The palace of course. But good luck breaking in there. Trust me, I tried."
-
Hmmm, why break in? i clearly have an idea Take us to the palace.
