So I read a lot of threads regarding 'nerf this nerf that' and 'buff this buff that' but do any of you really know what that requires? I mean besides your personal benefit to steam role your enemies like nothing is not a good reason. Yes, I understand nerfs remove fun factor and the way bungie does it is completely wrong to some aspects but nerfs are important changes to achieve balance.
Buffing on the other hand is controversial because when one thing gets buffed it gets hyped and over used which defeats the purpose of balancing. Buffing is required when one thing is so underpowered and nonexistent that it becomes irrelevant to the games content and thus defeating its purpose when created.
Like right now I see an over saturation of The Last Word in crucible and it creates a lot of salt. So this is where bungie needs to look at and try to balance it so that others may consider using other arsenals. Also snipers have become a problem too considering people would rather result to it than a shotgun at close range only then having to switch to primary (typically Last Word) or melee their opponent dead.
So how can they improve balancing?
In my opinion bungie needs to rethink their approach to balancing in every area of their game. Whether it may be crucible related or PVE. I find that what bungie considers as balance is to nerf every overpowered thing to the ground without compensating the nerfs with appropriate buffs or minor improvements. (And no increasing super charge damage just to say 'hey we're buffing not nerfing the game' is stupid when it literally one shots half of the enemies in game)
So when nerfing for example a certain gun instead of saying 'oh wow this guns damage is actually too strong' reduce the damage but also improve either attack rate or increase weapon handling just so that the weapon is still relevant despite the damage reduction or something similar along these lines.
Idk if you guys understand where I'm going but...yeah...I feel like bungie doesn't really balance but rather nerf>buff when it should be buffs and nerfs should compensate each other.
Tell me your thoughts on where bungie is going wrong because it's clear to us that they have done so countless times before; judging by new topics every few minutes.
(This isn't a thread for you to whinge and cry about your problems)

Bungie is in my opinion really careful with nerfing things since yr2. Like the doctrine is still great with an amazing ttk. But if people see "nerf" they basicilly think thats it worthless. However that is never the case (except for the yr 1 auto rifle nerf, i mean wtf) its not bungie who does something wrong, it is the people who are overthinking everything. Sunsingers are not dead actually still good blade exally got improved so you get benafitted for using the super correctly, stormcaller (my favorite) got nerfed which i definitelly understand but also buffed (rising storm) hamers were never in need of a buff, i used them after nerf its my 2nd favorite subclass, the health regen in great. I use fusion often now, hand cannons often, sidearms often but no shotguns... i despite shotguns. Nothing gets hit too hard, bungie really thinks about the things the actually change, why else all these numbers? They want to predict the way things turn out.
