Imo scout rifles have always fulfilled their intended purpose.

I would agree, but when an auto rifle could beat you at long range, there was a problem. Fulfilled purpose, but could be beaten by Suros (which is like a full auto high fire rate scout rifle).

You're not putting in the effectiveness of a weapons heavy round that stagger, most of the time an auto or pulse beats a scout it's because of the stagger otherwise the scout prevails
