*Mortar watches them as they enter their base. He seems fairly intrigued, however he thought that the way he normally entered a room was considered rude, so he walks up after they all go in and knock on the door*

The gate was closed before him. One of the marines stood guard. "You wish to come in, Señor?" He said, a suave hispanic accent laced his speech.
-
Oh, um, yeah. Admittedly, I saw your latest retrieval, and I was extremely interested on how you guys execute it.
-
"Why, you looking to join up?" Asked the guard, with a chuckle.
-
Oh, no, just curious is all. *Mortar looks at the guard* So do I have permission, or...
-
"Yeah, sure thing." The gate opens.
-
Cool. *Mortar begins to walk through the halls, looking for anything that might Answer his question. There had to be someone in this building somewhere, right?
-
The layout of the base isn't like that at all. It was a large compound with many structures built inside of it. Chapel-barracks, Mechanicus temples, Monasteries, strongholds, it was a pretty big compound. There was enough room for maybe four or more companies.
Oh, sorry.
*As he roamed through this city like place, he couldn't get rid of the feeling that he was being watched. Probably by the guards, but he took his icy blue knife off his back just in case.*
-
Taking a weapon out in the middle of a military way is a sure fire way to get you killed, you know.
-
*Mortar, feeling more in danger with the knife, puts it away* Umm... HELLO?!!?
-
Christ... The base is filled with soldiers, who look at him strangely for yelling like a bloody lunatic. Like... what do you even want, man?
-
*Mortar at least wanted someone to answer some of his questions, so he approached one of the soldiers, prepared for any "crazy demon person" comments* Umm... hey there. Is there any way I can talk to someone higher up?
-
"Huh? Well, there's the chapter master, he's as higher up as it gets. But what for?"
-
Oh, I'm trying to improve my "search and rescue" strategy, and I god knows how many people i had to save, and I want some tips From professionals.
-
"Well then... I'm sure he could answer your questions. Go right ahead and meet him, he will be in his monastery. Although he might be occupied, I'm not sure."
