The marine looked down at the Inquisitor.
"Over by the third street. Go down this road, take a right and you'll be right at the gates."
When he spoke, he had something of a hispanic accent, which was unseen before amongst space marine chapters.
English
-
The Duo moved onto the direction the Marine said. "That wasn't the usual Astartes accent." "That sounded kind of offensive." "I am simply stating fact." They eventually made it to the Gates after a walk.
-
It was quite the camp, with every structure that could be expected from a Space Marine stronghold. Seeing as they couldn't exactly have a battle barge raining support down on them, they had to hold a fortified position. Albeit unlike their usual strategy, it was a strategy they could see through.
-
"I, Inquisitor Ling Defaln of Ordo Malleus ask for entrance!" He shouted. "They do have peak hearing, Inquisitor. No need to shout it." "I don't want them to make a single mistake on my identity."
-
The gates to the base opened, letting him through.
-
The Inquisitor and the Tech Priest walked right in, observing the bases insides.
-
Chapels, Monasteries, Strongholds, even some Mechanicus buildings. It was quite the base. Battle brothers were all over the camp. There must have been at least three companies, or perhaps more, present.
-
"Certainly..crowded." He said under his breath. "We should check out with whoever the fück is leading this base."
-
Just their luck, a big plot arrow floated through the air, pointing them towards the Chapter Master's monastery.
-
Thanks Plot Jesus! The Inquisitor, who was abandoned by his associate to probably get a Tech-Boner at the Mechanicus buildings went to the Monastery, thanking plot Jesus once more.
-
The Chapter Master, often referred to as the Pather, stood within the Monastery. He was fifteen feet in height, clad in masterfully crafted, gleaming power armour. It bore the sigil of his Chapter, and was adorned with many imperial symbols, such as golden aquilas, seals of purity and scrolls. It had been crafted especially for him. It was black, mostly, with white striped details, and golden accessories. He did not carry his weapons though. He had his helm on. "An Inquisitor graces us with his presence. You should tread carefully, however. We have little respect for Inquisitor. You, although, are somewhat lucky. Your order is perhaps the only one we can respect." He spoke with a regal, deep voice, laced with a sweet, exotic latino accent.
-
Ling of course, took off his hood as a sign of respect. It revealed the slightly aged face, His goatee well trimmed, His flowing jet black hair tied into a hair tie and he slightly has bags under his eyes, possible lack of sleep or stress. "I am charmed, you certainly treat me with respect and so I shall treat you with respect as well." He said, slightly bowing. "But..I have came for a mere but important question." The Inquisitor said, lifting his upper body from the bow. "Your chapter has certainly gained recognition fast, and out of nowhere too. May I ask..How did one manage to have such a large number of marines so quickly?"
-
"We did not achieve our numbers in speed. We have been trying to attract as little attention as possible from the Imperial offices, and high lords. Our numbers have always been stable... we go back for many, many years. We follow the Codex Astartes when it comes to numbers, for the most part, with certain exceptions. But otherwise, we are a Space Marine chapter. We simply try to avoid the too often disturbing eyes of the Inquisition."
-
"The Inquisition was meant to prevent..'Heresy' and the such happening through watchful eyes..but perhaps we did not account for one single thing. Ourselves." He said, with distaste in his voice when he said Heresy. "But I am delving too much into our history. But now I bring up another question. Why reveal yourselves now?"
-
"Well, it was not our choice. We were forced here. And cut off from our barge... well, you get the picture. We didn't have any other choice."
-
"I see...This has been a conversation. I shall be on my way now." He said. "I bid you a good day." Ling turned around and put his hood on again, covering his features.
End? I don't see where we can go with this now.
-
he could chit chat some more maybe, about the chapters history. This is as good a time as any to speak of it.
-
k bæ. jk.
"Unless..you wish to discuss other matters that is?" The Inquisitor said, not even moving.
-
"If you wish to talk, I will gladly converse with you. It's not often you meet an Inquisitor this civil." He chuckles.
-
"Well I do not take my authority for granted like some others who shall not be named." He said, turning around. "I treat others with respect, unless they have done rather unrespectable things." Like calling people HERETICS all the time.
-
"Good to know. In any case, what was it that you wished to discuss?"
-
"Perhaps your chapters history? I don't really have anything planned so I can wait." Ling admitted to the Chapter Master.
-
"Very well then, I suppose I can speak to you of it. My chapter was brought about with the second founding. Or rather, it was released. It has prospered through the ages, unacclaimed and unworshipped. But never without cause. We focus our attention wherever the Imperial Guard is having difficulty maintaining a system. We defend humanity first and foremost."
-
"I see now..Do you happen to have any questions for me, Chapter Master?" Ling said to the Chapter Master.
-
"I do... how well can you keep a secret, Inquisitor?"
-
"Yes I can, I do keep countless secrets and shall keep countless more." He replies, wondering what he was going to be asked.
