Well he's gone.
As for your second question... Well he's gone. That's the part I'm afraid of. Although I think I have something that'll help.
*Mortar rummages through his sack and pulls out a crystal, the same type of crystal that was on Gore's arms.*
This emits an intense light and heat. It will deep fry those gooey creatures, turn Golems to new members of your sculpture collection, and probably hold off that guy for a longer period than he wants. Just don't look directly at it.
*Mortar picks up a fairly strong stick from outside and binds the crystal to the end of it*
I guess every mage must have a staff. For you.
