For anyone that doesn't know what the idea of Transmog is click this spoiler
Transmog (or Transmogrification) is a system prevalent in MMOs and RPGs which lets you pay a vendor to change what your gear looks like. First games that come to mind are WoW, Diablo 3 and Terraria even has a system like this
Example: [Set-A] is really good for what you generally do but it looks stupid, [Set-B] looks way cooler but is mostly useless, with Transmog you can take [Set-A] and make it look exactly like [Set-B]
I haven't played WoW, but the way it worked in Diablo 3 was that you went to a Vendor picked a piece of gear, and if you had enough gold you could make it look like literally any other piece of gear (Within that type, no Witch Doctor Armour on a Warrior, and no making Wands look like Giant Swords), essentially letting yourself look however you want, even if you find a piece of gear far better than what you're currently wearing
How it works in Terraria is that it costs nothing extra, but you need to have the piece of gear you want the look of for this to work, basically there's an extra equip slot next to your normal armour slots and putting the Armour in this slot makes it look like you're wearing it, but the game only counts the stats of the Armour you're 'really' wearing

Personally I think the Terraria type system would work better for Destiny, meaning that you still need to find the gear you want the look of, instead of just paying for the look
I also feel that this shouldn't apply to Exotic Gear, no concealing your Helm of Saint-14
I don't know how I would feel though about making it look like you're wearing multiple exotics, for the same reason above it's just a lil unfair to hide what Exotic gear you're actually wearing
Also comment that if you think it should come with a cost like in Diablo 3, which currency should it take to aqquire Transmog slots?
