It's your money so spend it on whatever you want. I think it's really dumb that that's what you decide to spend your money on. Especially silver, in a already paid game. Which is why we will just keep seeing more micro transactions. I guess buying gear that will be obsolete come next expansion and you can/will get by playing is better than getting DOOM, or weed, or something for your girlfriend, etc.

Spend enough money on family and my significant other. Don't do drugs, but spend money on alcohol, not a lot because I don't like getting wasted all the time. So what am I supposed to do with extra money? Spend it on something I like, my collection. Over the course of nine months. 20 dollars when emotes first came out 40 dollars for Festival of the Lost and emotes 50 dollars on SRL and emotes 150 dollars on 3 sets of desolate gear, shouldn't have been that much but I was being stupid and opening chest on my Warlock trying to get the Titan and Hunter set.

Hey man that's all fine and good, like I said it's your money and you're free to spend it on whatever you like. I have a friend who spent all his extra money on collectible hot wheels. I just don't understand why you would buy silver instead of a new game, or more alcohol, or more shit for your significant other, or save up for something, or a deck for your car, or rims, or a pet fish or reptile, better computer or phone, bigger hard drive for your ps4, an Xbox, etc.

I am a collector. I have a co worker who collects dolls, will I tell her to spend that money on her family? No I wouldn't it's her money idk what she wants I am not in her mind.

I didn't say that. I said I don't understand why you apparently collect "silver", if I was a destiny collector, I would get a replica of Thorn or something, not more silver. But you are more than welcome to spend you're money on whatever you want, as I said before.
