I would like to apologise in advance for my poor english, i'll try to be as clear as possible. My intent is to give a polite and humble feedback about the recent balance reguarding certain subclasses.
Polite because I'm not here to complain or yelling that someone ruined my day, humble because I'm not the one who makes games for living and of course i can't understand deeply why you made those changes.
But i want to know.
Gunslinger is not my main, but i loved the way it was, not the stongest, not the thougest but the most rewarding in my opinion.
I gotta say that, for me, was not so easy to stick a trimpmine, or hit that headshot with a trowing knife, it was riscky, but it was fulfilling in a way that no other class did. I know that I can still use both of them and be competitive but i really love the way they were before, the way those piece of equipement reward your precision or punish your carelessness.
I read the articles and the patch notes, but still i can't find out why those changes was needed and I'm wondering if they were trully indispensable.
After the patch i feel like I'm enjoying less using it, maybe i just need to get used to it, maybe not. I'm not asking you to step back, but to keep in consideration to give some love to Gunslinger in the future.
Heartily, a liege and passione guardian.

You know what I think is stupid? This is primarily sold to be a pve game, yet EVERY SINGLE UPDATE AND NERF IS BASED OFF OF PVP. What in the actual fuck is bungie thinking? Why is pvp the only info they read? Why is it the only part of the community they listen to? Why the hell is bungie so one-sided? It's just so stupid that they have fallen so far from the games release all because they don't know how to manage a game.

Good English, and you're lucky you avoided the s##t storm of fanboys who can only call us whining huntards.

I agree. I loved the gunslinger the way it was. Before the patch, it was still difficult for some reason to kill someone with a tripmine stuck to a wall. I love that sub class but when my mines would go off when someone walked in front of them, it was not a for sure kill. Even if they stood directly in front of it. Now it is even tougher. It's OK though. I've been playing around with my sun breaker Titan, fusion grenades, and armamentarium and I love it. So this change hasn't affected much but I do feel you

Took the gunslinger for a spin last night and....I didn't notice a significant difference. There were maybe two times I expected the knife to kill and it didn't. I always mostly used tripmines the same as lightning nades, to finish off targets that went into cover. They're still fine there. The one time I forgot they didn't stick and chucked it at someone's face....it activated instantly and got the kill. Now, no, I don't think they needed this nerf. Yes, their abilities are slightly less reliable, but let's stop pretending like they were ruined. After 15 or so matches I walked away feeling that the changes were pretty minor. I would still like to see the nerf to knives and tripmines reverted, but the class will be ok if they aren't.

I can tell you exactly why it was nerfed and it's bungie's favorite reason.
everyone used it, got good with it and kept using it.
Stupid ass reason. I still main gunslinger.

BladeDancer will continue to reign supreme in pvp for high KD. Strikers will continue to be on the rise, a veteran player will realize BD really wasn't hit that hard.
-
Yeah I might try blade but i really like shooting that big gun and I always had a knack for sticking people

Here's True Vanguard's take on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RoLUBOE4OE

I initially thought that the tripmine nerf wouldn't be much of a problem, but that was before I realized how often I stick enemies in pve.
-
I don't get this nerf, I feel like bungie was sitting there thinking "the stormcaller melee is completely broken and mapping people so let's nerf the other two melees with can actually compete so it can be even more broke"
-
Thank you. Usually i don't take posts like this seriously because people speak with their heart not their mind. I understand your reasoning and, as I Titan main, believe that gunslinger could be "un-nerfed" because of kind people like you. Thank you for not being one of the hunters that makes them all look bad. :)

On the other spectrum gunslinger in pve is a monster now. Especially with celestial nighthawk. Omg it hits hard.
-
I would like to see the data that influenced the changes. The majority opinion is that gunslinger was perfectly balanced before the debuff.
