Hi Cozmo,
I've been a relatively active player since day one and have still not completed Vault of Glass or King's Fall. And I'm not the only one. I recently saw a poll on the forums that approximately 16% of players have not completed year one raids. I know this issue has been brought up before, but I believe adding optional matchmaking to end game content, or at the very least to last years raids, will prove to be beneficial to players who don't have friends playing Destiny on the same console and help to maintain a healthy number of active players. I know that there are sites like lfg and the recruitment forum, but those have never worked for me as people nearly always pass up a 290 light level player like myself. I have really enjoyed the game but I am doubtful about continuing to purchase further expansions if I can't get a fire team together to play the most exciting content. I know that the chances of you seeing this and implementing it aren't particularly high, but if you see this, please bring it up with the team at Bungie.
Thanks
Edit: Please bump if you agree with this to help the message's success

The problem that you're facing is that the majority of players do not want that type of match making and if it ever became active, which I doubt it ever will, I think that you would quickly see why ho one wants it. The pitfalls far outweigh the rewards. For instance, you will be paired with people you don't know from Adam, you go through most of the raid or strike then right when the boss is almost dead, you get kicked and replaced by one of their friends. That happens now when there is some, albeit a tiny amount, of accountability. As far as running normal mode raid, you're absolutely right no one wants to run it not even first timers. The rewards are ho where near what you get from the hard mode. I suggest you post in the raid forum that you need to run the raid but aren't that good at it and need a strong team to explain, help, and maybe even carry you the first or first couple of times. You'll be amazed how far the honest approach will get you. There are plenty of people out there who like nothing more than to carry someone through the raid. It's your gaming experience, you can sit back waiting for something to happen and maybe come to you or you can go make it happen and it will definitely come your way. It's your choice. I recommend getting off the sidelines and getting in the game. Good luck and have fun.

I'd be more than happy to try it if you're on Xbox One

Have you been playing from day one, year one, or day one Taken King? I'm sorry people aren't being more helpful in the forums but what I suggest is you start sending friend requests to random people you see inside the Tower or during gameplay and start with people who are your level, what are your Vanguard and Light levels you never did say, or maybe a little lower so that as you progress you will become accustomed to one another playing style. Good luck and have fun.

However, I was pointing out ways to help you past your plateau, which I still don't understand the reason for, and to assist you in finding a friend or maybe even a clan to run with. You can also try the Crucible and Iron Banner since you are automatically placed on a team of 3-6 players you will have every opportunity to find what you need/want including drops to help improve your Light level. A day one, year one player that's still a 294 that's not right. No offense but do you have difficulties meeting people on your own? Are you worried they won't like you or are you afraid to speak to people you don't know? Don't wait around for someone else to do it for you in this case Bungie it will more than likely not get done, that's just not a real popular request or common problem because most people like playing with people they know and are comfortable with not randoms, go do it yourself. The benefits will be much better and enjoyable that way. Take care and good luck.

I apologize for the confusion, I have played the game since the day it was released and am a level 40 on my main and secondary characters. I am currently plateauing at light level 294 on my main warlock. Thank you for the suggestion, but the main purpose of this post was to raise awareness for the benefits of an optional matchmaking system for end game activities.
