~Smough sighs~ He's doing really bad, actually. I'm the only one that he'll talk to, so far. You should've seen him and Nameless...
-
Why, what happened? What did he do?
-
Nameless came to our apartment, said he was sorry for not letting him, trying to tell him he'll still have more. And...he just snapped. I'm afraid that he'll...he'll go Hollow. ~Smough says the last word with immediate dislike~
-
Hollow? I'm sorry, I forget what that was. Can you, um... explain?
-
When an Undead loses all hope, or has nothing, they go Hollow. The first signs is skin starting to become extremely rough, paranoia, and seclusion. It gets worse, until finally...the Undead lose themselves completely. It's basically an Undead losing humanity. It's an awful fate to have...
-
That is awful. Well, we gotta make that change. I am not gonna make my friend lose his sense of humanity
-
Some recover from it, but...it's unlikely.
-
SCREW IT, I'm going to help him if it takes every bone in my body!
-
Alright. Good luck! ~You arrive in front of Ornstein and Smough's apartment. The door is closed to their room~
-
*Mortar rests under a tree, his head against the trunk* I will just stay here, regardless what you all say.
-
~There's no response.
-
*After what seems like an eternity, Mortar wakes up, refreshed. He sees Orn through a window, and calls for him* ORNSTEIN! OORRRRNNNSTEINNNN!!!!
-
~The knight looks at you, then closes the curtains~
-
*Mortar sighs, he really wanted to see Ornstein feel better. He lost a friend like this, he didn't want to lose another*
-
~A couple of days past. You get a couple of opportunities through Ornstein leaving the apartment. You follow him until he enters the Starbucks. He only gets a coffee, pays for it, says "Thanks." gloomily, and sits down, not noticing you~
-
*Mortar clears his throat loudly a few times to get his attention. He didn't want to flat out say anything, it may trigger him, so he just cleared his throat between sips*
-
~Ornstein looks up at you. He sighs and goes back to reading the paper. There's room in the other side of the table~
-
*Mortar stealthily forms into that one empty space.* Um... hey there.
-
Hey.
-
So... how have you been? You just kind of looked kind of... lonely.
-
I... ~he sighs~ I don't know. Things have sorta been...up and down. Since... ~He shows you the paper. It appears to be called "New Lordran Times!" The front page is "Hero of Lothric Saves the Land!" It's shows a small statue of you standing over a fire~ So yeah...
-
*Mortar doesn't know how to react to the article. On the one hand, the people labeled him a hero, and revered him dearly, but on the other, it was a crushing reminder that he felt that he betrayed one of his best friend's* Well that's... something.
-
Yeah...They're already building statues of you, Zane, Kross, Balthazar, and Ite... Oh, check this out. ~He hands you the paper and points towards a smaller section. "Prince Lothric DENIES Building Statues!" "In a shocking statement last night, Prince Lothric spoke to the press, issuing a claim that no statues of the heroes shall be built inside of his kingdom. "I knew and spoke to those four. And I know that they would never want statues of themselves all over the kingdom." The press will investigate the Prince later this evening."
-
Yeah, that seems interesting. I should probably confirm that, I don't want to be reminded of it.
-
Heh. Probably. ~The knight takes a drink of coffee. He's wearing a simple yellow shirt. He hasn't bothered to fix his messy hair, and his beard is dirty and unclean~ So...how are you?
