I felt it before I heard it. A heavy thumping on the floor, as if great metal boots were pounding upon the floor.
"SOMEBODY KILL THIS THING!"
Yeah, definitely not my most dignified moment, but I'd like to see you do better.
Thanks. You might wanna check the character page, see what this guy is like, if you haven't already.
As he ran, he ran past a group of soldiers clad in blue armour. As he went past them, all he heard was the cascade of laser shots, and bright red flashes. The thing that pursued him was dead.
-
I hid behind a corner just down the hall, trying to catch my breath as I heard the horrific death cry of... whatever the hell it was. Taking one final breath, looked back around the corner at my "saviors". Call me paranoid, but if there's one thing I know, it's to trust absolutely nothing at face value.
-
They stood up from their crouched positions, one of them turning towards him. "You alright?"
-
"Yeah," I said, warily coming back around the corner. "Thanks. The hell was the thing?"
-
"I dunno. Most likely some sort of Tyranid bug. You were lucky we were here in time, kid."
-
"Yeah. Just where the hell are we, though?"
-
"Bloodwrath." He looked at the man's attire. Rather strange, considering all who were brought here had at least some knowledge of fighting.
-
"Real freakin' helpful," I said, giving the most deadpan look I could manage while I forced myself to stop shaking in soul-rending terror.
-
"Maybe you should be more grateful to the guys who just saved your sorry ass. And who hold the guns."
-
I ran a hand down my face before replying. "Look, cut me some slack, you guys actually have some idea of where we are and, beyond that, actual combat training." I shrugged. "I'm just some wimp who doesn't have a damn clue what's going on or how he got here."
-
"Guess what, Kiddo. If I did have a damn clue, I would have told you. Now my answer is the closest damn thing you'll get to sense. We're in the bloodwrath, a big fuсking ship, and that's it. Now unless you don't want to get the same fate as the bug behind me, I suggest behaving. Got it?"
-
Ok, these guys had definitely been here a while and, thus, quite tired of this place's shit. Better not piss them off any further. "Yes, sir," I responded, finally clamping down on my fear. Hey, better a scary guy with a gun, friends. and a temper. At least I can understand that.
I know. They don't.
-
Wait, daemons can look like tryanids? Or have these guys never seen a daemon before? Or both?

It's dark, and they grilled the body clean. It was skittering along the ground. Plus you didn't exactly give me much to go on. So roll with it.

Alright, good point, my bad :P
