[spoiler]This installment of Exotic History (and virtually every other through his post) is made possible by Paradox1055[/spoiler] Time itself seemed to slow as the Gorgon expanded its tendrils and shell like structure. The melody blared angrily like a cacophony of brass approaching the climax of the piece, their demise. Other shrill pieces far off joined in the chorus as they started to advance and grow in volume. The Hunter froze slightly. "Oh f***..." "Chap! This is a predicament!" Terrance began to cry out in panic. "We need to hit it with everything we got! NOW!" The Hunter nodded and summoned his bow, cocking it back and releasing it. The melody screeched to a brief painful trill as the Gorgon spazzed angrily before regaining it's composure and staring at the party again. "Guys!..." The Hunter started to say but another dull thud caught his attention. "FINALLY!!" Blitz roared into action as he raced up and proceeded to beat the Gorgon to a bloody pulp. Arteron pulled out his sniper and pulled several shots into the creatures eye. The melody shifted again to painful trills as it's pain rocketed up several octaves before the music suddenly stopped. Blitz' last hammer crushed the Gorgon like a cymbal and he kicked it away. The dead conductor bounced a few times away before giving a brief bow for its final performance. Blitz was panting angrily and everyone was silent. The other music had paused a moment before the melody was picked up once more. It was a deep low growl, soft at first. Then another joined in. Then another. And another. Soon the entire cavern was ringing with angry tones that were advancing forward. "Ah chaps..." Terrance said. "We should move on now..." "Agreed." The Hunter waved his two companions on. "Let's go." He ducked through the hole in the wall with Arteron and Blitz close behind. They swiftly made their way through the long hallway and ended up on the cliffside of a massive ravine. "S***. Terrance?!" The Hunter yelled. "According to my calculations... based on the trajectory of the canyon and the strange anomaly of time space and..." "Terrance!" The music was growing louder from the tunnel that they exited from. "Uh um... This way!" Terrance raced off along the cliffside and stopped just at the edge. "We have to make it to that portal." He expanded and pinged to highlight a lone portal off in the distance on a floating chunk of the ravine. "How exactly?" Arteron said, looking back and forth between the portal and behind them. "There's no way..." Blitz pushed his way to the front and simply jumped off. "Like this!" "Wait!..." The Hunter tried to grab Blitz but he jet packed as far out as he could and began to plummet. "Blitz!!..." A flash of blue sparks appeared at Blitz feet as a block of the wall appeared to stop him. He laughed and waved. "Bunch of chickens!" "What?!..." The Hunter gaunked for a bit before Terrance coughed. "I managed to bypass their security firewalls and since I've been apart of the architecture for so long I can now manipulate it for a short period of time." "I kinda wished you let him fall." Arteron quickly jumped and floated over to Blitz' position. The Hunter sighed and followed. Terrance continously scanned around them to reveal blocks that once were there or might exist there and hop-scotched their way across. The portal hummed to a quiet roar as they approached. "Everyone in now!" The Hunter yelled. "Don't have to tell me twice!" Arteron was the first one through. "Hey wait!" Blitz followed. "Come on!" Terrance yelled as he looked back for a moment. "Back to wherever this leads!" The Hunter looked over his shoulder as several of the Gorgons were conducting their melodies on the ravine cliffside. The walls themselves began to shake as he felt a twinge of sickness roll through him. "JUMP!" Terrance rammed into the Hunter's back and he stumbled through the portal. He landed with a thud as the bright blue light behind him faded to nothingness. He groaned and glanced up to see Arteron and Blitz looking around the room. "Well... where's the boss man?" Blitz asked as he kicked at some rocks. "He will show up... eventually..." The Hunter pulled himself up and walked towards the two. Terrance scanned several of the structures around him. "Well this is strange..." "What is?" Blaze asked. "We seemed to have gone through a noticeably different time warp... and now we are in an alternate alternate reality." "What?.." Both Blaze and Blitz looked at Terrance in confusion. "We teleported to a new area." Arteron said. "No we traveled to an al... Oh oh I see, clearing the confusion from the simpler minded. Yes we teleported somewhere new." "Why didn't you just say that?" Blitz said. "Yea? Are you stupid or something?" Blaze replied. "What?! How is your lack of knowledge dictate mine?!" "Simple. Cause you make no sense." "What?! That's... you... Oh nevermind." Terrance stormed off and scanned somethings. "Works every time." Blaze chuckled as he floated by Blitz. The Hunter shook his head as he walked over to the middle of the platform. They were in a chamber covered in vines and rust. Two portals were on the left and right, a single platform was floating between them and the back wall was shrouded in Darkness and overgrowth. Everything was quiet and still. "This is odd... It's supposed to be here..." The Hunter looked around for a few more seconds. "Terrance, you sure you put us in the right location?" "Almost positive." Terrance floated over. "It's definitely the right location." "Timeline wise?..." "That... I'm not sure off... Hm..." "Oh great... Now we have to leave and look aga..." A loud screech stopped his speech. He turned to see a large shimmer of light appear on the opposite side of the room. "Uh guys..." Black portals began to appear around the platform and spawn white and black Vex models that seemed to jitter and glow randomly. "Woo!! Enemies to kill!"
