For thoughts who know their fair share of lore, the fact that the traveler is not what we are led to believe is common. Many believe the traveler is perfect and selfless, it isn't like that. While the traveler is good it is also not brave. It did help humanity, but the second the hive and darkness came knocking, the traveler was ready to leave. If it weren't for the warmind, it would have. Rasputin was the reason the traveler has its scars. He used anti-matter payloads to bring the traveler back to humanity and forced it to create ghosts in order to bring back guardians. With waking the traveler being very high on the priorities of the city, what happens when it wakes up. Will it still run, or will it stay in fear of Rasputin? Should we trust it?

Actually, loki crown was never fulfilled, which means Rasputin shut down before anything was shot. Also, all Rasputin's weapons we know of are from orbit, and the scars are at the bottom. If the traveler did leave, RIP tower because of surrounding fallen/cabal/darkness
-
the Traveler was going to stay on earth anyway per the Grimoire cards. Rasputin used the nuclear/anti-matter weapons to repel the Darkness, which resulted in the creation of the Awoken, death of millions on Earth, and likely gave the Traveler the scars it has.
-
Rasputin/SIVA stopped the Traveler from leaving. If the traveler left we would be actually okay. The Fallen would follow it. The Hive, Vex and Taken would follow it. And we could have a deal with the Cabal to abandon Mars in exchange of them not attacking us.

Edited by erakis1: 6/19/2016 2:06:38 PMDo you think the traveler really wants to stick around and support the guardians when all they do is whine about the crucible? Guardians are hardly fighting the darkness at all. If I were the traveler, I would GTFO of humanity's bullshit and go crawling back to the Elinksi with an apology. At least they cared enough to follow the traveler.

If Trump becomes president
-
The traveler will try to leave... then shax, zavala, ikora, cayde and the speaker will form Voltron and stop it.
-
If and when the traveler leaves we will all die for good, as he or she will need all the light and power to reanimate and leave. No more ghosts, no more guardians. The darkness has left and hide in a galaxy far, far away.
-
It specifically says that the traveler will stay in the dreams of alpha lupi.
-
I never thought my dad would leave...but he did. I can only expect the Traveler to do the same.
-
Rasputin never fired, and if he did, why would it have any more effect than his arsenal on the darkness?
-
Yea, then when we could set out to find it, killing every race in the universe to get it. lol.
-
Is it certain Rasputin actually stopped the traveller? I haven't read anywhere that he did, simply that he had contingencies in place if the Traveller did try to run. And no, we shouldn't trust it, we know virtually nothing about it or it's agenda. Why did it help us? What does it want in return?

Edited by eleven11911: 6/20/2016 3:00:00 AMactually theres a pretty solid theory backed by a lot of lore evidence that rasputin never actually fired at the traveler. another thing... aren't we basically an extension of the traveler itself now? you know.. us guardians?
-
That's probably the "story"* of destiny 2, the traveler leaves and we have to find it or something like that. *Sorry about the sarcasm about the story but I'm a day one player and remember the highlight of the original story was "that wizard came from the moon!!!" Lol R.I.P Dinkelbot, no one misses you.

He's got lots of parking tickets
-
Do you believe in magic?
-
When we fail to protect it, yes, it will leave. When it does, we'll be wiped out, either by the enemy or by Rasputin.
-
I dont think it will leave. We were able to pretty much destroy the Hive (yes there are other gods) but I think it will realize we're the ones powerful enough it finally needs to destroy the darkness.
-
Or what if the traveler does recover but then destroys the city, deeming it the darkness for shooting it down and hurting it
-
My perspective of the lore has it where Rasputin shot down the traveler (long story) and since Rasputin is still active he may try to shoot it down again. But then again, the speaker says something along the lines of
i speak for the traveler until it finds its voice
This implies the traveler is healing, so he may be able to escape. I really don't know.
-
I'd probably shoot myself for lack of brain cells if I watched the Traveler just up and float away. It's just like, "-blam!- it, I'm out".
-
Let it leave
-
If it tries to leave, I'd guess Rasputin will point everything he has left at it. Again...
-
The traveler was going to stay, as shown in many of the dreams of alpha lupi quotes, saying how "here is where you will stay and fight" refers to the traveler. Rasputin could not calculate or anticipate the traveler's actions because it couldn't compute the light. I guess Rasputin fired anyways as a "just in case" precaution.
-
Actually Rasputin never fired Loki's crown (the weapon that would've crippled the traveler) because midnight extengent(the protocol that's in charge of Loki's crown) was never fully activated Rasputin never fired

With the way Bungie seems to be cutting it out of the story (we haven't heard about it in a while,) I wouldn't be surprised at all if it just upped and left
