And Aegis is a slower time to kill. Grasp is a 3 burst .8 second TTK (same as pre-nerf Doctrine), and Aegis is a slower firing 2.66 burst .87 sec TTK (same as hawksaw and pdx 45). Aegis gets a 24 round mag, and Grasp gets a 33. With Braced frame, that drops to 27 for Grasp (not 24 as is commonly thought). Sorry, but your Aegis will get shat on by a good grasp.

Yes you can beat a scub with an inferior weapon. In a 1v1 vs an equally skilled opponent, you will lose every time.
