Another 1 I won't complete lol. I refuse to do that long ass quest for a sword

Honestly the sword quest is short in comparison to the mountain top quest line
-
The exotic swords are some of the most fun weapons in the game.
-
The farming sucks. Rest ain't bad.

Edited by Nintentard: 6/16/2016 4:14:55 PMI don't blame you the farming is awful.
-
Hah. I did all three.....and hated it. Honestly, you should (at the very least) get the Raze Lighter (Solar). Very helpful and the best out of all the swords. Arc one is kinda stupid and the Void one is meh. Crucible part about the quest sucks but the material farming...by far the worst. The material farming took about 1.5-2 hours for each sword.
-
void is amazing to use! I find it the best out of all the swords because it can deal with such a tight situation with ease. just got to be good with a sword and use it more for than just damaging a boss.
-
I don't know what you're talking about, Boltcaster is fun as hell in Crucible. It's not the best choice for a heavy weapon, but it's damn fun.
-
PVP, yes. PvE, not so much. I PvE most of the time.
-
Yeah the crucible part was easy. But I don't play as much as I used to and don't have that much time to farm lol
-
If there's an exotic weapon worth getting, then it's one of the swords. Raze Lighter (solar) is the most useful one imo, followed by Dark Drinker (void). I actually never use the arc sword. The easiest way to get them is to gather all three quests with the warlock, as he has powerful supers for all three elements. Killing the adds and collecting the special resources for a sword (and even more for all three) is a very tiring grind, that is true. If a character has several sword quests, he can however complete the crucible part once for all he has, and also do the final strike once. You just need to be careful to leave all guardians you need for the sword quest alive to the very end of the strike and then quickly kill them all and then Alak'hul.
-
Yeah I got past the crucible part and gotta kill alak hul now. Just don't feel like Taking the time to do that then find the resources
-
Don't you need to find the resources first and then kill Alak'hul and those guardian knights? I don't quite remember. There is however one step that just requires you to kill three hive majors on the Dreadnaught to open a door to an area where you will find another major you need to kill with a sword (legendary will do). The Alak'hul strike works differently. Three hive majors, each with a different shield (void, solar, arc) will spawn there. You need to keep all alive whos shield corresponds to the element of one of the swords you are having a quest for on the character doing the strike with until you can kill them and Alak'hul within 30 secs (majors first, then Alak'hul).
-
To be clear...and avoid any confusion...you only need to keep alive the Hive major with the sword element you need. You can kill the other two and be fine. I had originally been told to keep all THREE alive AND alak'hul. Doable but such a pain in the ass. I think I may have been trolled come to think of it. BUT, it was for the Raze Lighter so it was worth it :)
-
To be more clear: If you are having let's say the solar and void sword quests both on the same character, you can leave both the solar and void knight alive to the end and then slay them and Alak'hul within 30 secs. If you slay one of the knights too early, you will have to repeat the strike for the sword the knight with the corresponding element shield you had killed too soon. ;)

I'm at the 1 right before the resources lol
-
I don't remember the sequence of quest steps well. :)

It's not long, and really easy with help.
