A lone flare streaks up into the air, bathing the massive cartography chamber in a pale corpse light that illuminates the horrifying scene below.
Edmond Glass vaults over row after row of dimly lit, oversized seats, barely out of reach from the horde of ravenous undead hot on his heels, each leap seeming to require more energy than the last. Sweat beads down his face and neck despite the cold temperature in the vast chamber, he is utterly exhausted as he sees what's ahead, horror clenching his bowls. Up ahead is a balcony that plunges down 100 meters to the floor level, Edmond is now out of options.
He briefly thinks of his new companion, hoping she is still alive and able to make it out. They had been separated when they disturbed dozens of undead upon entering the cartography chamber, which was about 45 Terran minutes ago. Where could she be now?
Edmond ponders how she figured out the door code that he had been trying to crack for days now, something was certainly strange about her - he has a feeling she is hiding something.... But what? He decides to uncover her secrets, providing he lives long enough to ask.
Edmond Glass leaps off the balcony.
