Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is my favorite game, not only for nostalgic reasons (it was the first game I ever played), but for its awesome Gothic themes and soundtrack.
I stumbled across the link here. It's a modern 2d styled game coming out called Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The developer was actually inspired to create this game because of the original Castlevania series. Even though the footage of it shows the game still somewhat in the development stages, I think that this could be an awesome follow up to the old Castlevania games that me, and I'm sure some of you, grew up on.
Anyways, do you guys think this could be a good follow up to the classic/Gothic/2d/Dracula slaying game? I think it's got a good shot.

Hell yeah. Sotn has some interesting glitches you can do. I saw a video of a guy that beat the game by rearranging his inventory. Harmony of despair was pretty fun. I used to play the shit out of it. I saw Bloodstained and it looks really good. I know Iga can pull it off. A little something interesting about the kickstarter were some of the things in the donation packages like having your face as a portrait in the game, your own secret room, working with the team to make a weapon and a demon, and I think a short recorded message at one of the highest donation levels.

Koji igarashi actually made most of the older metroidvania castlevanias. There was a kickstarter for the game. The goal was 500,000...they raised 5,000,000.

Nope, there is no possible way that only one person likes Castlevania

The original was arguably my favourite NES game. Dat box art...

Played the crap out of curse of darkness on ps2 for years. Would have never known about all the things you could build without the guide book.

Check out what happens if you have an original ps1 disc of the game and put it in a CD player. If you still even have a CD player

SOTN is an incredible game to this day and I recommend people play it if they haven't. I'm hopeful for Bloodstained, though it is very early in development so I'm reserving judgment til we have a better understanding of it. Hopefully it captures what made SOTN such a memorable title.
