Hello and welcome Guardians this is your friendly neighborhood AnonPig and I’m back once again to share with you some thoughts on the upcoming expansion Rise of Iron. The big question is what is SIVA and where did it come from? I've shared my thoughts on this and i stand by it that this is a Vex replicated Golden Age tech much like what Maya Sundaresh did over in Lhasa.
But with this post we're going to look at where it comes in from a Lore perspective, why haven't we heard about it until now? Why is, something so strong to kill the Iron Lords, “completely unmentioned in the lore” until now? The answer is simple, it's been here all along.
A few of you may have seen that small revelation, the Devils are the House that found SIVA and looking closer at their grimoire card we see this.
The House of Devils have now devoted great strength to pillaging the Cosmodrome in Old Russia, hunting for something buried below. If they are not held in check, whatever they find might prove the City's undoing.
We see in this paragraph that the Devils are looking for something below the Cosmodrome, which is where SIVA is hidden, that could be the City's undoing. Now this is very vague isn't it? It doesn't necessarily mean SIVA…. But there's more.
If you've been reading my mostly daily Legend series you'd have noticed Jagi has a placeholder, i was worried he'd have nothing to say, and i can't include this because it's just theory… but take a look at this piece from Ghost Fragment Titan.
The time Ghosts from Jagi's Host came back without them. Remember - they got in that fight at some point east of the Caspian? Seven Ghosts, damn near silent, buzzing with some sort of corruption. Drifting back to the Tower, one by one. Scared the Speaker well enough.
So East of the Caspian sea huh? Well… what else do we know about this?
Jagi's Host was last seen marching south of the Cosmodrome, toward the shores of the Caspian Sea.
And there we have it! Jagi pushed out South of the Cosmodrome toward the Caspian, the wall destroyed in the RoI trailer is the South wall! So does this mean that SIVA is out down by the Caspian sea? I believe so.
Let's look closer at the first thing about Jagi i posted above
Seven Ghosts, damn near silent, buzzing with some sort of corruption.
So were these seven Ghosts corrupted by the SIVA nanotechnology? I think we'll be learning more about Jagi along with the Iron Lords in this coming expansion Guardians.
Thank you for reading, this is your friendly neighborhood AnonPig!

Every time someone says Vex and SIVA are related, I cringe reaaaally hard.
-
I'm glad to see someone else pick up on this. I emailed a couple friends those Jagi's Host excerpts immediately after the Bungie reveal. They called me a nerd and we didn't discuss it again, pew pew! There's also a more recent Golden Age card that discusses, briefly, both the Lahsa experiment and the fresco, which I still think are connected
-
Not sure if it is a correct speculation or not, but Lhasa is due east of the Caspian Sea (albeit a decent distance). From vex 5, we know a warmind was involved (didn't state if it was rasputin or not) and the card uses the terms "quarantine" and "contagion" Could it all be directly related?
-
So the vex are nano machines ? They aren't organic beings inside machines. Interesting.
-
Nice catch! This also brings up an interesting question. While the light apparently protected us from being taken by Oryx, are guardians vulnerable to the SIVA corruption?
-
AnonPig, I found irrefutable proof of SIVA existing in The Dark Below https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/206807141/0/0
-
BTW awesome theory, probably true.
-
I believe that it is one of 7 warminds (7 seprah). Each one having a specialist area eg rasputin had the warsats and found the darkness first. So siva is another warmind with the purpose of building. I havr seen on image of a saber shank in rise of iron and I believ this cements my theory a bit.

Good Lord! AnonPig... dang it! Good job!
-
Yes knew someone would notice this! Jagi's host was lost to SIVA, there's no other explanation. Not even the Devils
-
Caspian Sea? Now I can say this! SIVA ME TIMBERS!!!
-
I think SIVA was a failed replica of Vex... But that's just what I think....
-
It definitely looks like we'll be fighting pirate fallen
-
But wouldn't it have been Radegast's Host that discovered the SIVA, not Jagi's.
-
Wonder where those ghosts headed to... Jagi came back to the tower, but what about his team members? Does this mean the SIVA corruption is enough to sever the connection between a guardian and his ghost?
