I'm not English, but always find it funny how the media hype England, to be one of the favorite's in every major football championship.
The tournament starts, they get knocked out in the group stages, or one of the earlier knockout rounds. 😂
They played, according to the english media an inferior Russian side last night, could only manage a draw.
England haven't won a world cup since 1968, why do they believe they're better than they really are? Let's be real here, they don't have any world class superstars such as Bale, Neuer, Ronaldo, Iniesta, Ibra, Padolski, Pogba etc.
Is the media blowing their squad, chances completely out of proportion, setting the expectations too high for a mediocre team?
You've the superior countries in Europe such as Germany, Spain, France, Italy etc, who would be real favorite's in past majors. I'd say you would be more likely to see Wales/Poland win a major nowadays, than England.
Are english fans delusional, or do they really have a good team, are underperforming? I would love to hear an english mans perspective? The history books clearly show they're an inferior football country, but they still set unrealistic expectations...

It's the managers fault and we do have world class players coyb

This team is completely new except from the likes of Rooney. We played very well last night against Russia but stupid decisions from the manager kept the game at 1-0 and the Russians scored from one of their only chances very late in the game resulting in a draw. The media is to blame for hyping England up. Nobody that I know ever believes that we are as good as the media says we are. After last nights draw the majority of fans said "typical England" which suggests that we are used to falling short of victory, which is true. I'm not sure any rational person believes that we are the best team in Europe. However, if we can continue to play the way we did last night and improve the offense (by keeping Rooney on the pitch and playing Vardy)... We have the potential to make it far. The young players appear to have much better chemistry than previous generations which is resulting in better football. Also, France had a tough time against Romania...pulled a win in the end, but Romania put up a good fight. Anything can happen in football. Leicester are champions of the premier league. That says a lot.
