He began weak, just like we did, he doesn't care if you're an Exo staring at your number and wondering where you've came from. He doesn't care if you're a human hungry to understand the ancient world that left you for dead. And he doesn't care if you're Awoken, reborn in the very essence of what your people hide from. Together, he believes, we are the pointed end on the long stick of happenstance. Change one ripple in an ancient ocean and we would never have been granted the Light within us, or the good Ghosts that want to help us.
He believes that every world begins as a big pebble lost among trillions of pebbles. Every worthy sun was once cold hydrogen spread thin across the vacuum. Even the universe, this cosmic garden that surrounds us and awes us...this monument to Creation was once the size of an apple seed. And everything that's splendid and great stands at the end of incalculable chance and mayhem.
He believes that you will grow.
He is a hero of the second battle, the Battle of Twilight Gap, one which would have been lost without the Queens intervention. The Fallen, again, attacked us. This time they came together as one, every House, except the Wolves held back by Mara Sov.
He was the Commander of the City's defenses, and he held the Walls from the invaders. Him and his two protégés, as well as many others like Ana Bray.
Now in memory of the Iron Lords he holds the event known as the Iron Banner. This special event is meant to strip Crucible weaklings of their illusions and prepare them for a battle with no concept of fair play. The Iron Banner tests a Guardian and the Guardian's gear in a definitive, relentless mock war.
By order of the City Consensus and the Speaker, he and one of his protégés cooperate in administration, while the Iron Banner is technically a component of the Crucible. In practice, he keeps own schedule, his own rewards, and his own territory in the Tower.
It was after the events of Twilight Gap that tensions grew between him and said protégé, the exact reason is unknown to us, but now and then someone tries to get all three to sit down for dinner and sort out their differences, but they remain as awkward and as stubborn as Saint-14's skull.
This is the legend of a Titan, this is the legend of Saladin Forge.

Edited by Weeeaal: 6/6/2016 8:49:10 PMI feel like any banter between Shaxx and Saladin would be hilarious. Saladin seems like a cool-headed, calculated and intelligent dude while Shaxx is very brash, almost cocky and somewhat arrogant. I can definitely see why they aren't bros but I would like to be present for any dialogue between them haha Nice write up, btw. Love your work.
