This just came to mind a few minutes ago for myself but I have to ask, have any of you considered how the various enemy factions might see the traveler and the guardians?
They could consider the traveler to have too much power for one being and feel threatened. In an attempt to stop this godly entity that has the power to spontaneously terraform any planet to its liking they attacked it and injured it, thinking they'd succeeded in protecting their individual races. As a result it began resurrecting the dead, creating an army of ridiculously powerful soldiers who couldn't truly be killed unless the conduit of the traveler's energy (the ghost) was drained of this energy. How could they hope to fight an enemy force made up of warriors that were not only practically immortal but also stronger than a vast amount of their soldiers combined. Looking from their perspective that is a truly terrifying sight.
This begs the questions already asked by many, what if the traveler is evil? What if all of the records and history were lies? What if the lore is intentionally written in favor of the traveler for this purpose? Just the ramblings of a fellow player but it is something to consider.
