I stumbled upon this in my capture gallery.
I am really surprised how accurate this hand cannon was.
It's called the Silvered Maverick Mk. 41, as you can see I had explosive rounds. This is actually my first gameplay with this weapon in the crucible.
The points I want to make here are.
The range Isn't bad at all and it's not even near half a bar in the range stat.
When you aim, if you miss, you miss. If you have your crosshairs on them, you will make the shot every time. Like any other archetype in the game at that moment.
Now it's only hand cannons that suffer from these "Phantom Bullets."
Notice how when shotgunners rush me and other people that I can reliably use hip fire consistently.
Now it's the only handcannon with good hip fire accuracy is TLW.
The accuracy needs to be returned to how it was in y1 after the blanket buff.
I believe that all primary weapon archetypes like auto rifles and hand cannons should get a significant buff to range.

I remember using this blue hc called Polite Denial during Dark Below, and dang it was great.
-
*sees comedian, likes post* i have a great roll on one of those and it's my favorite crucible shotgun for how consistent it is
-
look at all that shotgun ammo :(
-
OP: Hand cannons were great! Also OP: *misses half of his shots* *applauds*
-
Man look at how people only used their primary...
-
Wow, this makes me realize just how much I miss year one crucible. Please bungo make it like year one 😥

Edited by morbidinfant: 6/5/2016 12:11:13 PMU don't understand how range works. It affects the damage drop off AND accuracy. They nerfed hand cannon to make it only work within intended range. A regular HC without range perk during during HoW has longer range than eyasluna with rifled barrel. I never have phantom bullet problem in close quarter engagement. U need to learn to manage the distance, because now u can't use one weapon to cover every situation.

It fun to look at year two players grimiore, you see as many special weapon kills as their highest primary.
-
I want handcannons fixed just as much as anyone I just don't know how they do it without creating a meta. When they hit they are the best weapons to use in the crucible no doubt.
-
And right above this thread, 2 Bungie employees replied to a thread asking if anyone still had primary ammo syntheses? Am I missing something?

#spawnwith25shells Lol those days.

I pulled out my thorn yesterday and even at medium range, phantom bullets everywhere
-
I remember back in y1 the reputation bar used to be a shape of an duck
-
Damage falloff tied to the range stat is fine, but the phantom bullets are TERRIBLE right now. The accuracy needs to be fixed. Phantom bullets cannot be a thing on a hand cannon. If Doctrine dropped an occasional bullet, it's not a big deal, but on a hand cannon, that can be life or death.

No bows no hammers and no stormcallers heard....
-
I was more shocked by how no one used a special weapon lol
-
other than the range they perform about the same difference being before nothing else could really compete against hand cannons
-
I can agree with the accuracy buff, but that range is pretty crazy for a handcannon with such a low range stat. Handcannons needed a range nerf, just not as hard as it was in 2.0. And I agree, ARs are in desperate need of a range buff. I can't shoot across a room with the max ranged suros without being paranoid of range falloff which is stupid.

Pouring salt into an open wound.

when does that game come out

So..... Much...... Shotgun...... Ammo! /drool

Edited by seraphic_thunder: 6/5/2016 3:33:07 AMYou know what part I like the most? The fact that even though you could hold almost 30 shotgun rounds and I assume that it was of decent range, you only used it once because your pistol was out of ammo but it was because the pistol was still fully capable of getting the job done most of the time. Nice video.

Man, that looks fun...what is it...lol. I used to love my vendor rolled Lord High Fixer with send it.
