It's commonly seen on the forums people complaining about their partners playing clash and focusing on their K/D instead of playing the objective.
Call them tryhards or incompetent but it ruins matches and frankly it still pads their k/d.
The solution: only award a score based on completing the objective. Capture a zone? Points. Kill someone in the zone. Points. Disable the K/D and have the median score at the end of the match be 1.0 "K/D"
Want to brag you were mvp? Play the objective. Hardscoped or shotgunned the spawn points? Congrats your score sucks because that's not control.
For rift, defending the runner/killing the runner gives points. Reward the objective.
Tl;dr For games like control and rift, disable skirmish and take the median score in points as 1.0k/d. It rewards playing to the objective without people feeling their score will plummet capturing a zone.
