Tl;dr: Give The Glasshouse the intrinsic perk "Illuminated".
The Year One Glasshouse was pretty underwhelming. The Year Two version is pretty good and I find myself using it in the raid each week. There aren't many Titan exotics you'd use for that raid that compete in terms of utility.
Ruin Wings? Twilight Garrison? Saint-14?
Heavy is never important in King's Fall. Extra mobility is take-it or leave-it. I'm never using my Ward directly on top of enemies. And these are what I'd consider my best alternatives.
The other exotics are even less useful for King's Fall.
Armamentarium? Nope. Bellicose? Nope. Mk. 44s? Immolation Fists? Alpha Lupi? Inmost Light? Eternal Warrior? Skullfort? Nope x7.
With that being said, many of these exotics that provide little to no use in King's Fall are top tier exotics in other arenas (Twilight Garrison, Armamentarium).
The Glasshouse provides useful damage output/reduction in various stages of King's Fall. This is why I would consider it the most useful for the current raid. I use it every time. But still, and as perplexing as this seems, the most useful Titan exotic for the raid is still underwhelming.
Maybe it does enough in terms of damage output over time (debatable, more on that in a sec) but another intrinsic perk would allow this to compete as the Defender's go-to exotic. If the helmet also granted "Illuminated", this would be a completely different exotic item. The Glasshouse currently extends the duration of WoL and BoL which is great. However, this perk does nothing to buff your WoL/BoL during the standard length of time the effect is active. Once that falloff happens and you're using WoL during the extended WoL duration, your damage increase for the remaining few seconds is the only benefit you receive from this helmet. That's insubstantial.
PvE can be balanced easily. Crucible WoL snipers kill with a body shot already, anyway. Balance the attack/defense buff for Crucible (Grants Illuminated for just the Titan? Lesser effect in Crucible?) and to me, it seems like a better exotic that still won't break the game. Also, other exotics grant skill tree abilities already. Graviton Forfeit comes to mind but I know there's more.
Overall, The Glasshouse is a fairly weak exotic that does little to benefit Defenders (who are patiently awaiting a buff, as it is.). It functions as intended but it seems the intent falls short. I truly believe adding this intrinsic perk to The Glasshouse would give Defenders a small, easy, and needed buff without too much game-altering, fundamental change.
