Stats do not matter in most games. Even more so in a game like Destiny!
Just some supporting points in the text here for my video:
Ways to affect your stats
- Used to/didn't used to pubstomp in stacked 6 constantly
- played solo/played only in a team
- play aggressively/don't play aggressively
- play for the win (objective)/just play for kills
- played from beta/joined late
- take breaks/play other games that require transition periods upon return (eg: when everyone went to division for 2 weeks)
- gamemode you play
- carries/trials help
- farming first few games on trials card
- passage coin runs
- doing stupid challenges (NLB when it was bad)
- doing community/follower challenges
- weapon reviews/experimenting/grimoire
- internet quality
- play time
I could go on
the three massive Destiny specific ones
- SWEATS/COMPS
- ACCOUNT SHARING
- DELETING CHARACTARS!
All of these factors. And people still think that stats mean anything: please watch the video and combine it with points raised here. Disagreeing is fine, just do it once you've taken in all the info I give you!

An even easier summary: Are stats everything ? No. They do have meaning to an extent though. Regardless. People are going to see either high numbers or low numbers and base their judgements off of those numbers of another player. It's gonna happen. People do that with everything in life unfortunately. Numbers are the only way to assume how well or not well someone plays before you actually decide to play with them. There's not really any other factor to base your judgments off of. I'm sorry, but if I'm ever playing ToO and want to look for two other players that do well, I'm gonna look at their stats. That's just how I do things, I know it pisses a lot of people off. Certain people have certain requirements. Simple as that.

Agreed stats don't matter, only problem is a lot of the time, stats are the only thing to go on if you've never played with the person . More then likely when your stats are good so are you but I do understand that doesn't always work, just my thoughts

look at the stats on my hunter from iron banner, then look at my trials stats

Edited by xSinicle: 6/2/2016 11:31:39 PMI did what people suggested and it was to play in teams and use the meta. Whoa and behold my k.d shot up about .3 across all characters on both ps4 and xbone in a very short amount of time. This includes playing iron banner when i started out my alts at around 310 light. I didnt have much fun using the same weapons over and over and kept wondering why they kill so much faster than regular versions of the same weapon and kept getting hate mail. The k.d is still going up because theyre just too easy to use along with fireteams.

100% agree

You forgot the old deleting restarting to refresh stats card or the take fiends alt accounts into rumble to fluff kd card

Nobody cares and this isn't going to change the opinions of those who do. Nobody cares about your k/d or your justifications for why it is where it is. People who are going to call out your k/d will continue to do so and people who don't give a shit will continue to not give a shit. This post is just sticking up for yourself and saying "why my k/d doesn't matter" because it gets consistently called out in a number of your threads. I like your posts, I like the fact that there are people pushing to make destiny more competitive (like yourself), and I like the fact that there are people out the who are decent at the game who don't get a hard on from looking at their stats. However, this post is quite useless and this discussion has been played out. This horse has been killed, beaten, buried, dug up, beaten again, dragged through the streets, hit by a semi, and thrown into a field to rot, so please don't bring this mutilated, rotting horse back into town and start beating it again. Nobody cares.

Disliked, reported, muted. git gud

Saying stats mean nothing is very ignorant. Why is it that teams with higher elos tend to beat teams with lower elos? Why is it that streamers with high k.d.s tend to beat non streamers with average k.d.s? Stop ignoring the facts. K.d. and Elo are relevant numbers that do matter. It isn't a guarantee that a team with higher stats will win but it is a strong indicator they will. Here's a real world example: Tom Brady has a higher overall passer rating than Jay Cutler- he also has more championship rings. If K.D. didn't matter it wouldn't be quantified and talked about as much as it is.

I actually agree with this conspiracy theory D. Reason why is some F.P.Sers are a huge step ahead of the rest . My first experience of PvP is crucible so naturally someone who played COD or Battlefield would rip me apart. So why wouldn't Bungie design an algorithm for players like me.

Good players can do anyone of your posts and still maintain their stats, so git gud

My stats arnt to good but if someone where to run a trials run I'm a lot better than most. My past few weeks trials games have deffinatly made me realise this. Not to mention I finally picked up a Suros pulse and the hawksaw, they fit my play style perfectly.
