I've often wondered who would play custom games since you wouldn't have rewards for doing so.
Isn't the whole point of Destiny loot (outside of fun lol)?

You forgot about that thing called "fun" I made this video because I thought I would play it with some of my friends and enjoy it :)

you must have never played halo... nobody would force you to play custom games, but if you ever played halos custom games, youd know its the most fun gaming experience youll ever have!

Was halo a loot based game?

I don't need loot. I have everything a gaurdian could ask for, except a lag-free and customizable Crucible.
-
Exactly that: fun. And also playtime and longer playability for Bungie 's game
-
Loot drops being random anyway, I wouldn't see a problem with a few drops here and there
-
There should never be loot drops in private matches.

Yes, an excellent way to train for the crucible. Hang out with friends and try diffrent load outs, do some gun damage tests. Rehearse your teams roles. There are a lot of good things about private matches. Who cares about the loot. You can get that in regular crucible or IB game modes.

Exactly. Every Halo game has had a thriving custom game community despite there being no incentive. Incentives in those games being rank ( Halo 2/3 ) and credits ( Halo Reach)
