Once there was a Sunsinger. His name was Angel. He was a Human, and like most other Warlocks was curios about everything.
Most Sunsingers' wings from activating Radiance are temporary, lasts as long as the Radiance.
Angel was revived by his ghost, and wings of fire sprouted from his back. There they stayed, even when Angel didn't have Radiance active. These wings had material, though they looked like a mirage.
He discovered these wings quickly, and learned how to fly within the same amount of time. He soared to the Tower, directed by his ghost.
When Angel landed, every guardian there stared at him in awe. They muttered among themselves. Until a Hunter laughed, "What's wrong with him? Did his Radiance last too long?"
A Titan continued, "Or was he revived by a wren?"
The Hunter finished, "Does that even matter? He looks ridiculous with those wings!"
The crowd of guardians began to howl with the Hunter. Angel took off his helmet, dropped it, and hung his head in shame.
Angel folded his wings and made his way through the crowd. He ran into Cayde-6, whom wasn't the Hunter Vanguard at the time.
Cayde said, "Watch yourself, I might shot those wings off."
Angel walked down the Hall of Guardians. He wondered if anyone would ever accept him. As Angel walked past Lord Shaxx, the Titan remarked, "You should be ashamed, Warlock. The darkness won't spare you because of your wings."
By now, the Warlock was about to burst into tears. As he continued, stopping when Andal Brask said, "Is this what the others were laughing about outside? Ha! He looks ridiculous with those wings. He's a Guardian Angel! Literally!"
"Andal," Ikora Rey dispraised, "His wings are not to be taunted. They make him unique."
She turned to Angel, "My apologies, Guardian. Andal could be very impolite. Anyhow..."
That's where Angel lost track of what Ikora was saying. He was thinking about how everyone had mocked him for his wings.
After Ikora was done droning on about what it means to be a Warlock, she sent Angel to Banshee-44.
He could not avoid being mocked by the other guardians. Banshee witnessed the whole thing. He pitied Angel. So he had a plan, "Psst. You with the wings."
Great, Angel thought, Now the gunsmith is laughing at me. He mustered his courage and walked to Banshee.
"Normally," Bamshee told Angel, "I wouldn't do this. But I am."
He pulled a Heart of Praxic Fire out of a box he had stashed, "Listen, someone had me hold this for her. She promised she'd be back for it. Well, she's dead now. Poor 'lock was tortured by a Wizard. Anyway, she'd probably want you to have this."
So Angel wore the Exotic. For years. He did get a ship, shortly after the Heart of Praxic Fire.
The other guardians still made fun of him. When he did a strike, the other two guardians would leave. In the Crucible, shortly after the match started his team would leave. If they spotted him, they called him names, teased him, and will bully him.
This made Angel very shy and depressed. He felt he didn't belong in the universe. He tried to drown himself near the Forgotten Shore, but his ghost didn't let him.
One day, when Angel was searching for Vex in a cave on Venus, some guardians found him, did the usual teasing and name calling. Then, they knocked him unconscious and stole all of his resources and guns.
Little they knew, in that very same cave, watching was the very last Ahamkara, whom had hidden herself, as guardians slaughtered her brethren.
"Oh light so bright," she called, "Come to me. Let me see you with my own eyes."
Angel's ghost warned him, but the Ahamkara's voice was so soothing, and promising. Angel cautiously walked toward her.
"I believe we have something in common," she continued, "We both have wings, we both want to be loved. I have no company. Neither do you. Visit me, Oh precious light of mine."
"Is this a bargain?" Angel asked.
"In a way. There's just no consequences. Tell no one. Especially you, little light," The Ahamkara said.
So day after day, Angel visited the Ahamkara. Sometimes sharing troubles, sometimes he would sing for her. As long as she saw his wings.
The reason the Ahamkara told Angel to keep his visits a secret, was because she wasn't really and Ahamkara. Secretly, she was a Warlock with wings just like Angel's who managed to escape the torturing of a Wizard. Unfortunately, she was too crippled to return to the Tower. She had meet the real last Ahamkara, and became a Ahamkara at his dying breath. Her ghost was robbed by a knight.
One day, two guardians finally agreed to go on a strike with Angel. The strike was Echo Chamber. The Time Bridge bent his left wing. It was cracked too. Angel collaspsed.
The two other guardians grabbed him and took him back to the Tower.
When Angel awoke, he saw his broken wing, he was surrounded by guardians. He waited for them to mock him.
"He sounds so brave, breaking his wing to make sure the Nexus Mind wasn't reborn," one Titan muttered.
"Venus," Angel demanded, "Take me to Venus."
"You're too crippled. Your wing kinda had a bad effect on your spine. You're growing weaker by the day," his ghost plead.
"I promised the Ahamkara I would visit her everyday. I don't care if it kills me to visit her one last time," Angel replied.
Angel got up and flew into the sky. He tried to fly to Venus. He lost strength in Venus's atmophere. He crashed into the cave, landing in front of the Ahamkara, breaking his other wing.
She said, "Your wings are broken, precious light of mine. You are brave."
"They're going to kill you," Angel said.
"You told them! What an outrage!" she roared.
Angel began to cough up blood, "I am dying. I want you to know that I love you."
Love was all it took to free the Ahamkara to return to her true form.
"I love you too, Angel."
