    Based on what I'm reading, I agree with everyone else. Sounds like the drive is going to need more work than it's worth to repair (it's definitely not "shot" though). Just most likely cheaper to replace than repair at this stage. I will recommend though that unless you're bound by a warranty or something, don't use Best Buy or any other major retailer's repair services. You'll more often get a cheaper repair, by more qualified people, with much faster turnaround if you seek out a local repair shop.
