What kinds of animals are still alive in the wild (earth)?

I don't think there is much life on earth. I would imagine it is a shell of its former self. Maybe insects. Maybe scavenger type animals? Rodents, vultures. I believe the food is derived from synthesis. The water is perhaps undrinkable?
