Some wisdom to live by...

So about 2 years ago I got a pdf copy of every Star Wars book ever written. There are well over 200 of them, and because they were all written BEFORE Disney nerfed it, I count those as the TRUE star wars universe. Not this charade that Disney has made. I'm currently in the time period of right after the the sith takes control (Turns out the Sith were originally a race of dark side using aliens who enslaved humans for various reasons). It a series called "last of the jedi". In the first book was a quote from Qui gon gin to Obi-Wan that I think rings true for everyone out there.
To be a living being is to live with regret. Those who say they regret nothing are liars or fools. Accept your regret the way you accept your mistakes. Then move on
This short sentence spoke the most to me out of every book I've read. It did so because for a long while I used to tell people I had no regrets. or even worse I'd TELL people to live without regret. Upon reading this though I realized just how much I've grown from that flawed logic. I realized how much of a young idiot I was compared to who I am now. Moral of the story? Regret is an important part of life. It helps us to learn and evolve as an individual. Don't be a fool like I was. Accept the things you've done wrong and learn from them. Don't ignore them or pretend they don't exist. That is a path towards the Dark Side. To read this and ignore it is to be a fool. Real wisdom comes from those with the experience, and those with experience don't want to see other people make the same mistakes. Learn from those who fail. Respect your elders wisdom, and cherish every memory, good or bad.

You may respect your elders, but you must go by your own wisdom. True wisdom is understanding and accepting the world for what it is, not just experiencing the world. You should acknowledge your memories, good and bad, but don't treat them as good or bad, just let them be a reminder of the past and that you're still moving forward. If you truly attribute Wisdom to experience, then you are the fool. You cannot gain wisdom from other's wisdom. It's up to you to open your eyes and see the world.
