Did anyone else notice that all the wands in Harry Potter were measured lengths in inches? Being in the UK, shouldn't a metric unit, such as centimeters, have been used? It could be that the units are simply converted for the US copies of the books, but Pottermore also lists them in inches. Do wizards not use the metric system? I just thought that was weird.

Metric doesn't have a good way to measure wand length. Inches works the best because it measures in big increments.
