"Whatever it is, it can't be good at all. I suspect that there are going to be far more Chaos entities unfortunately, as that couldn't have been the only ones."

"I doubt it as well. We can only assume the worst with this place, and stay on our toes." One of the marines stepped up to the captain. "Brother-Captain, the motion tracker is sensing heavy activity in the vicinity. We should accelerate our pace." "Understood, brother. Let us make haste." The squad sped up, their armours clanking.

This was more what Bracheous was accustomed to: Mobility. He knew he was good with his hit-and-run style combat, but he didn't know how it would fare when the Ultramarines were with him. And so he hastily strides down the halls with the band of them.
-
As they ran, they encountered a pack of tyranids. The alien beasts howled, charging them. "Contact!" The marines opened fire as they ran, the captain was already raising his power fist.
-
"Damned 'Nids!" Bracheous shouted. The White Scar had ran to one side of the fight and charged the front line, firing his way across the battlefield. One of the foul creatures got closer than he had liked, but his Chainsword and Bolter Pistol had taken care of it.
-
Quickly enough, the group of marines had torn through the Tyranid ambush, stepping into their yellow blood, not slowing down for anything.
-
"That was... Unpleasant to say the least." Bracheous thought to himself, his Chainsword dripping a sickly yellow colour as he moved with the rest of the Astares.
-
"Brother, what does the motion tracker say?" "it seems we are moving away from the pack of Tyranids, Brother-Captain."
-
"Out of the frying pan, into the fire." The marine thought. Though he wasn't rightly optimistic inside right now, he still was willing to express that on the outside.
-
"Sir! More movement! Although... IFF Tags read as friendly. Imperial forces." "Still, keep on your guard, brothers. We may be in trouble."
-
"Imperials? Please, let these guys not try to gun us down, or be newly turned Heretics." Bracheous said to himself, not in his head this time around.
-
"Right around the corner, captain!" As they turned the corner, they ran nose-to-nose with a patrol of Tempestus Scions, of the 7th Baltic Manticores regiment. The fearless soldiers aimed their hellguns at the marines for a moment, lowering their weapons upon recognizing their brothers in arms.
-
Instinctively, Bracheous had his Bolter raised to the troops for a brief moment, but lowered it upon realizing whom they were. "Hello." He simply said after a moment, breaking the extended silence.
-
"Imperial guard, here? By the emperor..." "We thought the same about space marines when we heard some were here. Still, good to see more friendly faces."
-
"That's very true. Had a run in with Chaos Warriors a while back, have you and your men been having any troubles?" Bracheous inquired, directing the question to whoever seemed to be in charge of the group.
-
"We've been here for two weeks. Non-stop attacks from chaos forces on our base. But we aren't the specialists of entrenchment for nothing."
-
"Damn... Ultramarines, have you any skill with entrenchments?"
-
"We will adapt. We must."
-
"Alright. Gentlemen, if you have a camp to bring us to, now would be an excellent time to do it." Bracheous said to the soldiers, and not to the other Space Marines.
-
"Understood. We will take you to the headquarters." They begin going back the way they came, with the marines in tow.
-
Bracheous had followed the group intently, as he had wished to survive, and following this group was his best shot at it from how he'd seen it.
-
They arrived in a very, very large room, an abandoned arena of sorts where titanic beasts would battle. A simulated environment was there, with dead trees and black hills. In the center of it was a large ferrocrete building with several smaller buildings around it, searchlights were sweeping the sky around it. "there it is. Base camp." A few kilometers from them, the space marine saw something out of the corner of his eye. A winged figure fell from the sky.
-
"Hold on." The White Scar commanded. Bracheous had caught but a glimpse of the disturbance from the corner of his eye, and he quickly cocked his head to the side in an attempt to see it better.
