What is the point of the Not Forged In Light quest? What are the rewards?

I got this quest even though I'm a Dead Orbiter. I got it after I did the Paradox Heroic secret and turned in the Cult Ghost. I don't know what it's for.

The Big Doogan

It's the exotic quest for No Time to Explain. It's a pretty mediocre weapon and you have to join the Future War Cult to continue the quest
