Quite a few people I know have been getting hostbooted recently when doing well in Trials of Osiris and it's making me wonder how much of this is going on all together in the game world!?
I've had it done to me, when we were in an 8-0 run with no mercy left. My friend had it done to him the other day on a high win card, and another friend watched her team mate hostbooted while afk for a moment at the start of a match by an enemy player stood in front of him (wielding thier ghost to view his profile)!
For those that don't know:
Hostbooting is when a player sources your IP address via messages, PSN or a special program on a separate computer, then they send an overload of useless data to your router causing it to disconnect and "boot" you from the game. This requires a router power reboot and console restart to allow you to connect again and can sometimes even damage the router itself.
It's getting ridiculous the extent people will go to just to ensure they go flawless and not hurt their "precious ELO" ranking!
Is there anything that can be done to stop it or at least BAN players that practice this disgusting method of cheating?
Comment below if you've had it happen to you! ?

This happened to me the other day playing regular cruible. Team went from 6 to 5, down to 3 and no new spawns and someone in our party chat echoed that it's happening more and more. At the end of the match some D-bag T-bags me like he accomplished something playing 6 against 3 the entire match. Granted I know this can happen but it's starting to happen to a lot of my friends when they play as well, including Trials which is more frustrating given the time invested to get rewarded. For anyone who doesn't believe this can happen in Destiny, look it up. You don't have to be a hacker, you just have to download a program. My guess is that's why we're seeing it more and more. It's a shame, because not only am I hearing it's causing people to not want to play it (Doom comes out today), but seriously people, this is a game and supposed to be competitive. If you're going to that extent to win, it's not winning. Hope there is something Bungie can do, like at least look for patterns like a profile, or better IP address is involved in matches where the other team has players booted and ban them from playing. Bungie, hope you're reading and will address this in a weekly update if it is as common as I'm hearing lately.
