So this is apparently a new topic of debate that not a lot of people realize yet. And I want to see what the general consensus is.
I just finished a raid in which we did numbered platforms for the daughters platform. But to give you some context, the fireteam leader announced that we would do numbers instead of assigning a platform before we started. A couple members--experienced raiders I might add--didn't like that and preferred to do assigned platforms. We didn't come to an agreement on what to do and they just left. Straight up, they just left the fireteam.
I can do whatever strategy, assigned or numbered platforms. That's just the nature of an experienced raider: to do any strategy and adapt to any situation on the fly. But the two members that left just showed another kind of raider: the kind that are strictly adamant about doing one strategy and one strategy only.
Sorry if the post sounds like a rant, but having to wait to look for two others to do a daughters checkpoint will anger anybody.

IMO, assigned is easier, because there is less time to figure out where to go with the aura distorting your view, centurions spamming axion darts, and the symbol appears above #4 instead of Oryx slamming #1 so it takes a split second longer to calculate. But if teammates insist on numbers, I will try to make it work.

From behind.. sorry couldn't resist.

I prefer assigned platforms for daughters and numbered for Oryx. The countdown starts as soon as you kill the first one, so I find it easier to just go back to me assigned platform.

My biggest issue is people who are inflexible or who misunderstood what the group is doing. Either way is fine and works as long as everyone is on the same page.

I don't care what number it is the back left platform (if youre facing oryx) is mine if I'm stuck holding one.
